Okay, let's finish up the dinner pictures before I go on with Cozumel.

This salt crusted dorade is for the best piece of fish I've ever had, ever... I forgot to take a picture when they presented it, so I only have the finished product. On the side: twice baked potatoes and creamed spinach.

The Salt Dorade is our favorite Virgin taste for sure and our first at The Wake when we get back on board. I wonder how many times we will repeat it over three weeks?

  2. Thanks OrcaGirl.  So, no official requests for masking onboard or excessive coughing on your Solstice cruise?  We don't mind the masks in between food and drink for that possible extra margin these days.  We would just be interested in any observations you might have.

Hope your reintegration with the workday reality isn't too severe!  Repeat cruises if so.

Wikoffclan, we booked the post 12/3  (12/11) Beachfront Airport transfer TIMEKILLER excursion too.  They better not cut our "Pretty Woman" shopping moments on Rodeo Drive!

  3. We are doing Blue Chips for the Nov 26th and Dec 3rd sailings in Aqua.  Crossing the date line, equator and the old Elite cocktail hours with new friends aboard the Solstice on a transpacific from Sydney a few years ago are some favorite cruise memories.  Your updates on the Solstice and pics now are really appreciated by so many that will soon follow you.

Our only pos Covid test was on our July cruise, so we are also interested in your observations onboard in that respect too.

Thanks for taking the extra time out of your fun to include us.   Mike and Ron

  4. The healthier options and portion size, or that perception 🙂 in Blu and being able to go to the Persian Garden anytime for the warm tile loungers or the front relaxation room are worth it to us.  The yoga mat in the cabin, while a nice thought, just ain't gonna happen for us!  LOL

  5. This afternoon we booked Nov 26, 7 night with an A1 Sunset Veranda and Dec 3, 8 night A1 with the bigger angled balcony.  I specifically asked the lady for any perks she could add under the promotion.  She apologized that none were available but offered to waive the AQUA upgrade charges.  That saved us $300.  She only charged us $579 taxes/charges for the 15 night B2B.  I thanked her to the point of it being funny for both of us.  We'll gladly pay grats and drinks beyond the 2 hour Elite ones.

This is cheaper than buying groceries for two weeks!

  6. Yes Sid, B2Bs are the best!  We are set to board Scarlet Lady June 29th and have been anticipating and enjoying your angle pics, food porn and posts daily.  The vibes of the ship, crew and sailors as well as your port wanderings are palpable.

With us being unable to taste all the yummy items at the restaurants on one short cruise, do you mind putting together a list of your most tastebud tingling discoveries from your multiple Virgin Voyages!?  After you get home and decompress with your own Don Julio Anejo therapy, of course!  (and laundry!)  We all love a great filet, but don't want to just repeat a standard when there are so many unusual creations, like the Dorade at The Wake that we are unlikely to ever see again.

What the heck, Don may even convince you write a lookback of the most notable hits and misses.

We can only guess being "One of the Most Interesting" sailors aboard got you the private invite last night.  Well done Sid.

  7. In addition to a pic of the CDC card we are asked the "Date of Final Vaccination" on the app for our Oct 6 Indy sailing.

My second Pfizer shot was in February, but my booster was August.  Final vaccination would actually be the booster.  More than 2 weeks have passed for me but maybe not for some other fully vaccinated and recently boosted folks.  The photo of the card will tell all, but for their data to be consistent on the app, clearer instructions would be helpful.  If they intended to include boosters, it could be helpful down the road to easily see if an additional jab was recommended.  I plan to list the booster and see if it is an issue at boarding.  Does anyone have more knowledge on this?

  8. Yep.  The inconsistencies are still consistent.  We were just able to get past the "check back later" block this afternoon and now after many "Continue" clicks get stuck at a page you must select a check in time but the box is blank.  Nice Royal guy just said IT is aware of the situation and is rolling out times.... sometime, some day, some way, etc as per his information.  We can have one of three screens: several times listed, one time listed or our "extra special" no times and no way to proceed screen.  His best advice was to keep trying until it works.  All of this is on laptop.  Android still says to check back closer etc..

    Anybody find a workaround?

  9. We are really anticipating our first Azamara cruises. Western Med from Rome Oct 28, 2018 and B2B TA from Barcelona Nov. 6, 2018. If any family are going or have any advice, we would really appreciate knowing about it.

  10. Greetings Greg and Jeremy

Mike and Ron here. We are way overdue checking in for family on this cruise and are so pleasantly surprised to see someone has already posted.

We recently added the B2B leg to Vancover to the previously booked Sydney, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, South Pacific first leg. It looks like there is a Pied Piper group too. What fun! This will be our first time to this part of the world so all advice is very welcome. We have two nights in Sydney before boarding with a package deal at the Four Seasons. We really look forward to meeting you guys. I looked at your past posts and saw that we have also enjoyed the Aqua hump balconies on the Reflection. Aren't they great? We were in 1620 in the Eastern Mediterranean.

    Until later then.

  11. Mike and Ron here. We are way overdue checking in for family on this cruise and are so pleasantly surprised to see posts on here. We have always been the first looking for others. We recently added the B2B leg to Vancover to the South Pacific main event and then discovered it has a Pied Piper group too. What fun! This will be our first time to this part of the world so all advice is very welcome. We have two nights in Sydney before boarding with a package deal at the Four Seasons and will add a night on our own. We really look forward to meeting you guys here and ultimately in Sydney and beyond. Until then!

  12. Good idea, lets call the cabin and make a "date" before we meet. We stay in Royal Suite 6133. We are leaving for Miami in a few days. I guess we see you guys on board in a few days.:)

    The Boys

Hi Boys, thanks for the note back. That's a great location. We are trying our first porthole up front under the bridge but the same deck, 6001, windshield view of the heliport. Don't know if we will miss the big balconies with the hot weather or not. Gotta find out somehow. We can touch base by phone on board. Maybe we will see you for the sail a way at the Sunset Bar first.

    Mike and Ron
