  1. I wonder if those that are so accepting of this would accept it in other situations? Let's say a hotel advertises "stay one night second night is half off" and then saw that the first night was $350 and second was $325 with the excuse that the normal rack rate is $650. Would that be OK? If nothing else it is more than a bit misleading because we have been programmed to think half-off means half-off of the current normal rate that people are paying, not some rack rate that no one ever pays.

  2. It is my understanding that the information is not printed in the boarding materials, just in the FAQ section on the web. How can they hold people accountable if they are not informed of the restrictions. Don't get me wrong - I support the non-smoking rule.

Where I live e-cigs are banned in all the same areas that regular cigarettes are banned. My understanding is that this is how they are currently treated in most areas so anyone using them should know to follow cigarette rules or at least ask before using them. It sounds from some of these posts that some users don't feel these rules apply to them though. Not surprising really.

  3. I think NCL made BIG MISTAKE on the "ala carte pricing" structure.

This totally changed my outlook for my upcoming ESCAPE cruise. As previously mentioned it totally complicates my decisions as to what to order, how much to order and how much it will affect my bill at the end of the cruise. Takes away from "don't worry about it" your on vacation "freestyle" approach.

This is what attracted me to "FREESTYLE" cruising in the first place. Since I am one of the diners that frequented the specialty venues because I truly enjoy having several appetizers (more than one), salads etc. prior to entree, I will definitely not be spending my hard earned dollars in the the new ala carte venues and will rather dine in the MDR or Buffet instead. I firmly believe there are more cruisers out there like me versus not, which means that overall NCL will suffer lost revenue. Maybe even far enough to take my cruise dollars and similar others to competitors products in the near future. I may be going back to Royal, Celebrity or Princess

If you frequent the specialty venues can't you just buy one of the dining plans and still do what you did before?
