  1. That is why we usually eat on lido. A few times we had great table mates really close to us. But we have also had people next to us that gave us dirty looks every time one of us spoke, once a couple next to us was praying before their meal- we were seated next to them and they apparently didn’t like being interrupted and spent the whole meal giving us dirty looks. It made a very uncomfortable meal. We had no problem with them praying, but I didn’t decide to sit there to bug them.

  2. I use a Frio cooler wallet. It works great. I like it because I don’t have to worry if my insulin is too hot or cold. I live in Michigan and cruise in the winter. So when I leave and return home it can be very cold, and sailing out of Florida it can be really hot. Once on the ship,  room temperature is fine.

  3. We have cruised once on ncl and Hal, 11 on carnival. Carnival and ncl were the most alike. We just didn’t like the people on ncl bugging all the time to sell you the extra restaurants. My husband and I are in our 60s and 70s and I don’t know if we will ever be old enough for Hal. We like the fun of carnival. And if you like to people watch—-carnival is the best. We would like to try royals mega ship sometime, just to see. Everyone just needs to find what feels best for them.

  4. We used it on the paradise in November. I used it for Facebook messenger and also on the ships computers to check in for my flight and print my boarding passes. Worked good, of course not as fast as at home. No problems. Will purchase again on our next cruise.

  5. The hub app is free. The $5 per device is to text with others on the same cruise ship.    I have never used this. It is not the WiFi. The social  WiFi package is per day and only allows you access to Facebook, messenger and some airline sights.

  6. Get the package before you cruise, so you get the discount. Download the carnival hub app. Before cruising. Put your phone in airplane mode when you leave port. You can only use one device at a time, but it’s easy to switch. If you have any problems, just ask someone with a phone, most people know what they are doing. Not me, but I copied the directions from the website before we left. AND it all actually works. Have a great cruise!

  7. We got the social package on the paradise in November. You can get on Facebook. But we used it to message on Facebook messenger. It’s like sending texts. Worked great keeping in touch with our son. It also allowed us to get on delta to check in for our flight. We had to use the computers on the ship to print out our boarding passes. Even though the price is higher now we will still get it on our next cruise.

  8. We cruised on the paradise a couple of weeks ago. Cabin was warm, not hot. We will be taking a small fan to circulate the air on our next cruise. As far as the refrigerator goes, it’s more like a cooler, it does not chill like a refrigerator. I am diabetic, on insulin. I use the Frio coolers. I have used them on four trips so far and work great. They activate with cold water.  I have reactivated them with cold water from sink faucet while cruising. In my experience they stay cool for approx. four days. You can buy different sizes depending if you have pens or vials.

  9. I am a diabetic on insulin. I bought the frio wallet to keep my insulin cool. I have used it at least 4 or 5 trips and works great. It is activated with cold water. I don’t know how it works but it does. There are several different sizes depending on what you need.

  10. These lights were on the conquest when we sailed in March. They are great for lighting the way to the bathroom. But they don’t stay on very long and don’t light up the bathroom. So you still need some kind of light in the bathroom. I tried to leave the bathroom door open, but the lights don’t stay on very long, you’d have to be very quick!

  11. We saw a proposal on maho beach on st. Maarten. Lots of people around. Two or three people with cameras(probably some family) and he got down on one knee. It was semi private as he was off to the side and only those close could hear what was being said. We really only noticed when he went down on one knee. Seemed very easy and sweet. She must have said yes, saw hugs and clapping. Sometimes simpler is easier.
