The St. David has gotten back underway back to the island. Would suspect Oasis will be getting back underway as soon as the stricken passenger is at the dock or shortly there after.

I've been bringing home sand for years - not soil. I found some small keep sake bottles at the local craft store (also available on amazon.com) They call them storage jars at A. C. Moore (Product # 323304) a six pack of six oz jars with metal lids. I note the beach, island and GPS coordinates (thank you google earth) and label each one. I now have a nice collection of "beaches" complete with a few tiny shells from each one.
I transport in ziploc bags and have never had a problem. After all, there are worse things to smuggle home from Montego Bay than a bag of sand.

I stayed on Emerald Deck with a partially obstructed view. There was a steel I beam holding up the lifeboats blocking my neighbor's view. I was smack dab in the middle between two lifeboats. Allowed a pretty decent view. I think we were in E308. Looking at the deck plan you'll see mostly aft, nothing forward. The location of the liftboats are correct on the deck plans on princess.com
Hope it helps.

Last time @ Chankanaab we attempted to shore snorkel (we brought our own gear) the surf was so rough we aborted the dive. Was exhausting getting into the water and moving away from the shore. Then when exiting the water the surf was bashing us against the steps. Stupid, we should have aborted before getting into the water. Keep an eye on the conditions and judge for yourself. To misjudge could really mess you up.
