  1. I've never had to fill out a form of any kind

You don't fill out the froms. The casino does it. The last time I bought in for more than $10,000 cash in one day, I was in a positon at the craps table to see the Pit computer and saw the Pit Supervisor holding 2 pictures of me, apparently taken by the eye in the sky and transmitted directly to the pit

  2. How does that work out since your winnings aren't on a slot machine. Is there a record of your cashing in chips at the window over a certain amount? Obviously I never cashed in a lot of chips at the cage. LOL But I have won over $3,000 on a slot machine on the Carnival Triumph. And yes I had to claim that amount on my taxes, but I also made sure I had a win/loss statement to go with it.

Anytime you cash in more than $2500 in chips at one time at land based casinos there is a form filled out, more than $10,000 in a day another form(SARP). There's a warehouse in Washington full of these forms, so I don't worry about it.

  3. Did you report your winnings on last years tax return? :p

Of course. like every year I keep a diary of every gambling session, Game played, time started and ended and wins or losses at each table. This has satisfied the IRS for years . And yes, I declared on my customs form that I was bringing more than $10,000 into the U.S.. Customs officer got a kick out of that.

  4. I just finished an NCL cruise on the Jewel. There were 3 Texas hold'em tournaments held during the 7 day cruise. All used live dealers on the one hold'em table and blackjack tables.

The first tourney was the first day at sea. It was $100 buy-in, with $100 unlimited re-buys, and a $100 add-on for 2000 starting chips. There were 4 tables of seven. It was an ultra-fast tourney with the blinds starting at 100/200. First two levels were the re-buy levels and were 30 minutes each. After second level the add-on was 4000 tournament units. Every level from then on was 15 minutes. Paid 3 spots, 50%, 30%, 20% after the House took their 25% rake. First place would have paid $2150 but six people cut a deal, two big stacks split first ($1050) and other four split second and third ($525). Dealers were given the a nice tip from the pot first. I was one of the four (YES!!).

Second and Third tourney were same format with $60 buy-in, re-buys, and add-on. Second tourney was the other day at sea and the third one was held on the day the ship was at NCL's private island at Great Stirrup Cay.

So you cut a deal to give up a chance to win $2150 for $262.50 minus dealer tip and buy in?
