It's been a while, but I had them send me a check instead of the onboard credit. I figured it would be less complicated if I didn't spend it all, and I wouldn't try to spend it all at the last minute on things I didn't really want. No cruise booked, but I did just have them send a deposit directly to my checking account.

Just remember that your points do expire at some point.

    Have a great cruise!

  2. It's been a very long time since I've posted. We have cruised on the Dawn 5 or 6 times. Love the ship, and love the OS. I'm sure things have changed since we last cruised, but you're going to love the OS and all that goes with it. Our butlers asked what we wanted for liquor as soon as we met them, and they didn't have a problem with Ketel One and Kahlua. They really do bend over backwards to please, at least in our experience. We did bring mixers with us, but I believe they will bring you certain things - tonic water, bloody Mary mix, Tabasco, olives, onions, lemons, etc. I would also bring my Magic Bullet to make blended fruit drinks since there is plenty of fresh fruit available. You're going to love it! I hope we will get to cruise again some day.

  3. It did almost break my heart though....we and a few others gave him a tip the day before disembarkation and my DD and I were sitting by the shops...well, Benji came out of one of the shops and right over to us to show us the gift of perfume he had gotten for his wife and daughter to share with the tips he had gotten...I wish he would have had enough to get each of them a bottle :(

I'm sorry he wasn't able to bring one for both of them, but happy to read this. I have always brought perfume and cologne to give to our butler, room stewards, etc. People said, just give them more cash. (We didn't give them less cash than we would without the perfume)

I can't tell you how excited they were to get the perfume, and most of them said they would bring them back for their family members. I wasn't sure if I should do it when we're able to cruise again, but now I will. Thank you, Skyfire!

  4. The same thing happened to us with our BOA MC a year or so ago. They mailed the new cards and cancelled the old ones. Didn't have any problems from the switch.

I'd like to believe they cancel all the old cards for the least little thing to protect their customers. (and themselves)

  5. Mderaba, hope you will love the Penthouse. We have been in forward and aft suites, and both prefer forward. You will get some wind on the balcony when cruising, but not bad if you're on the lounges. Great while in port or leaving too.

I haven't been very active on the boards for quite a while, and the Webshots pics I posted are gone now. Kind of took the wind out of my sails when Webshots deleted them. I need to spend some time finding another photo site to post the pics.

Your signature looks fine to me. It shows two cruise clocks, one for the Dawn and one for the Pearl. Hmmm... I wonder why it's bunched up for GaryCarla?

Have a wonderful cruise, and enjoy your suite and the Dawn!

  6. Boy, I hated reading this. :( We haven't cruised in over 4 years, but we were always able to get just about any liquor we wanted in the OS. We asked for Kettle One, and there it was, no extra charge. Sorry to hear things have changed. Not crazy about all the giant new ships either, but they seem to be doing fine without us.

  7. I know what some have said about the value of taking the points as cash and then charging more on the card during your cruise to get double points but there is just something psychologically satisfying about having it as OBC and taken off your cruise vacation bill.

I agree! OBC feels like you're spending their $. The cash feels like our $!

  8. Pic below is DH enjoying the balcony on Navigator 7388 (deck 7 corner aft....essentially the same as Freedom class 7408 and 7708.)

On Voyager class ships, these balconies are 7388 and 7688.

P.S. He can give you instructions on how to hang your hammock.:D

    He looks very happy! :D

  9. It's Cruise Deck Plans dot com, and a great site if you want to see pictures of your suite or cabin. You can see the floor plans without joining, but you have to join to see the pics. They will also buy your cabin pics.

I joined quite some time ago, and I really like the site. It was a one time fee when I joined. They bought a lot of my pics and deposited the $ to Paypal, so the pics paid for my membership until 12/2037.

Just looked and they do have pics of 7692. Didn't want you to join and find out they didn't have pics of what you wanted.

    Have a great cruise!
