We will (hopefully!) be on that same sailing and we are doing our land tour pre-cruise as well 🙂
I have an update to this post. If you book with Avis in Anchorage, you can turn your car in at Whittier.

Thank you mapleleaves! I appreciate you catching my post and giving me informative details and advice!

We are DIY for pre-cruise Golden Princess (Southbound July 6, 2019). The idea was to rent a car and tour Kenai for a week. The hitch turned out to be turning the car back in. Whittier is not an easy place! The solution that I've come up with is return to Anchorage on Friday, turn the car in and grab the Princess shuttle/transfer to Whittier on Saturday. Is there a better way?

Today I was told by a Princess rep not to get a flight out of SeaTac before 4pm after debarking....is that your opinion too? We are arriving in Vancouver at 7:30am. The best airline for service to Amarillo is SWA which has no service in Vancouver. After a cruise, I don't relish the idea of another night in a hotel plus the expense of it. Any advice appreciated.

April 5th will be our 3rd sail on the Coral which made me very excited to see the changes made to her during the last dry dock. I reviewed our pictures from the other 2 cruises to compare and it is amazing the difference (For instance the carpet in front of the grand staircase was pink and blue). When we booked the Panama in 2013, our first long cruise, I booked a cabin with no sofa for a 14 day transit. The mattress was broken down on the nightstand side probably because too many someone's didn't have anywhere else to sit in their cabin except the chairs...Grrr! I decided that trip that we would always have a sofa in our cabin. I hope our cabin was lucky enough to get a new mattress because DH's cousin chose them this trip with his TA. The new carpet and the upholstery work are amazing and very beautiful! I watched the video about dry dock which was very interesting. It was great to see the old gal...all of her! She looks amazing! I have always been curious about how they do such a huge job in such a short time. Very interesting to see the enormous size of the screws too!
ANYWAY! Eagle and Hawk what a wonderful job! I loved it! (Thanks Northender for calling it to my attention!!)
(I love your wife's first name! ;-)

This is the most fun excursion of all we've ever done! Money well spent! Top notch outfit!

Thank you!

I think I know but will someone answer so I'll be sure. After transit by ferry of the Gaillard cut and the Pacific locks, then boarding a bus in Panama City, where exactly do you meet back up with the ship?

If they still have the Piano bar - where is it now? And do you know who is the entertainer? When we went to Panama on the Coral 2013, it was a witty and very talented entertainer Roger Carr. Just wondering if he was still around.

I thought it was just me being picky! The ice tea on cruise ships is terrible! I drink mostly water and wine! On my earlier cruises, the coffee was about the same but they have made a definite improvement with coffee! I have occasionally brewed my own but just relented and had water. I will use these ideas on the Coral! Thanks!

OK! I get it! And I have one thing to say...YUM!

It's been awhile since we cruised RCI. What are you talking about with meals and the spices? Could you explain please?

I need to know.... Is Coca Cola available by the can or by the bottle on the Adventurer? In a beverage package? In the frig? It's my one weakness! I'm not a fan of fountain as they never get the mix right! And the ice waters it down! If not, can you bring it on?

Hmmm...since we will be using the car in Homer for three nights and Seward for 3 nights, the thought of driving back to Anchorage to catch a shuttle, the $1153.78 seemed pretty good! It fits us much better! Depends on what you're going to use it for!
