I stood in line next to Jerry Van Dyke when we docked at an island on RCCL many years ago. He was performing on the ship at the time, and was very pleasant to talk with.

I was on a cruise with Jerry Van Dyke(really was not with him) Oceanic old Premier lines 1987?? We were on the same floor. Were lost and could not hardy find the way to next floor. He was the main entertainment and he went to the island refered to as Gulligans island. We had to fight heavy waves coming back and Jerry Van Dykes was late for his evening performance. Logo had splash down I think. Jerry Van Dyke was on the 1986 cruise. The wind was so bad and waves so rough that we could not hardly get across the plank from the tender back to the ship on the return from the island. I watched the hands crawl across the plank. They finally move the ship to block wind. We were a hour trying to get back on. Jerry was late for his show that nite. The next year they took us straight from the Nassau dock.

My first cruise was on the Carnivale in 1981.

Did not cruise on the Mardi Gras but was on sister ship the Carnavale in 1981. Travel together in Eastern Caribbean. Saw her once again docked. She was small compared to today's ships. Oh but that first cruise/
