We did a cruise on L'Austral. The White dinner and Captains's dinner are not compulsory. We went to one Captain's dinner, didn't get particularly dressed up - bit long and drawn out, and noisy, very hard to hold a conversation. For the next Captain's dinner and the White dinners we and many others just went to the buffet restaurant up stairs.

We did this trip 23 May - 1 June 2015. Absolutely fantastic. The 1st couple of days we did walks, but as it was the end of the wet season the rest of the time we went out on skiffs, In my opinion a good mix, as it gave a mix of walking and skiffs. I think we covered much more distance in the skiffs.

Food and crew great - both the naturalists and the ship crew.

Loved the cabins, we enjoyed just laying on the bed looking at the world go by.
