  1. Ok. First and foremost, everyone in this board is simply awesome! Thank you for your feedback. I’ve posted a few times but think I’ll use this one thread for all my questions and bump up as I have a new one.

1 - Bag drop off or storage on day of embarkation - Seward

What’s the earliest time I can drop my luggage off at Seward cruise terminal? We are sailing NCL Spirt in Aug 2023 with an 8pm embarkation, but we want to do Exit Glacier and the Sealife on the same day. We are likely staying at an Airbnb with 11am checkout.

2 - Is there daily coaches that run between Anchorage and Seward?

I found one company called Alaska Cruise Transfer that run shuttle service on Monday and Wednesday only. We’re trying to see if we can get to Anchorage by Sunday.

    that’s it for now.

  2. Hey, looking for some lodging recommendations for Seward. I checked Expedia and everything looks the same. No major hotel chains and everything looks the same. Nothing really sticks out.

    We're a family of 4.

Also, what's the best way to get down Seward from Anchorage? Cheap is nice, but is there a guided tour? I'll have a rental car in Anchorage, so a daytrip to Seward is a possibility.

I feel so uncomfortable with this Alaska cruise.

  3. Our friends missed the ship and will be meeting us in Roatan hopefully after they check in. We need a beach recommendation by taxi since they can’t take a shore excursion.

Any recommendations? We don’t need a drink package and are travelling with younger children.

I remember going to Roatan years ago where they had these really shallow waters, there was a rocky area as well. Cab just told me it was called west bay beach, but thats just the general area. Any one know where this is or can give a recommendation?

  4. Hi - As a Canadian travelling in March (hopefully), I believe I need 3 tests to board a cruise and return home. I'm flying to Miami a few days early, will get an antigen test in Canada prior. But I'll need to get another before I board the ship. NCL says tests need to be administered no more than two days in advance. Prior to returning to Canada, I will need another another one. Luckily my flight is at 6pm on the day of disembarkation at FLL.

MIA - Antigen test - where can I get one cheap? It doesn't' have to be same day but ideally.

FLL - PCR test - again, where can I get one cheap? NCL said there will be PCR testing at the port for $125pp and you'll get the results in 90 mins. But $125 sounds gawd awfully expensive.

I should mention, we are going as a group of 24. My family is a family of 5.

    Any advice will help.

  5. Hi Everyone,

First time going to Alaska. We're flying into Anchorage 3 days ahead of the cruise and I'm completely lost with what to do. I feel like I've been spinning my wheels.

Does anyone have an itinerary they can share with me? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money doing excursions. Are the parks free to get into?

  6. Hi,

I'm sailing in 7 days, but my father is gravely ill. There's no way we're going on our cruise, doctors say he'll probably pass within the next couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, the trip cancelation insurance I have won't cover this because he had an existing condition. I highly encourage everyone to read their coverage policies before they assume their covered.

I called RCL as well and I don't seem to have any options. I can cancel and get back my taxes which is about 20% of the cost of the cruise.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Seems so unfair. RCL can easily fill this cabin given the network they have. I completely understand paying penalty of some sort, but not 80%.

  7. Hi there. There's about 12 of us going to Nassau on the NCL Getaway. We're looking for a good cheap beach recommendation. We need calm water (which I understand is harder to find) and a clean beach. We're going with young children. We do not need packages that include unlimited drinks but don't mind paying for chairs and food.

    thanks in advance.

  8. Hi,

I was on the NCL Getaway November 2017 and going on the exact same ship this November.

I was able to purchase a "Social Chat" package for $35 pp. It had to be purchased one day 1. It gives VERY limited access to the internet. It includes Whatsapp and a few other chat programs (I think iMessage works). Does this still exist?

I see something similar "Unlimited Social Media Wi-Fi" for $12.50pp. But it's significantly more expensive.

    Thanks in advance!
