  1. I did this as an option on a river cruise.

It is a lot of fun. It is at a vineyard, but ours was outside, with picnic tables and partial covering, almost like a lean to.

The wine is very fresh, and it is served in large glasses. You should get a huge pretzel and various dips. They keep bringing the wine. You keep drinking the wine.

We had an accoridan guy & a guitar guy play and sing at our table, coming & going to the tables beside ours. It was a lot of fun.

PS - because this wine is fresh, it is also full of alcohol. You will realize how much the next day.

  2. To me, Bar Harbor was full of touristy trap gift stores. I did have an excellent lobster roll at a restaurant.

Be aware that the options offered by the cruise line (Holland America) are very expensive.

This is also a port where you go through Immigration and that can take a long time and this is a tendered port.

  3. Does anyone know if you can take a prescription (from the US) to Canada (we'll be in Vancouver next month) and get it filled? One of our dogs is on medication that is far less expensive to get through Canadian pharmacies online than through anything in the US (it's a human medication). Figure if it's possible, we'll get some while we're there and not have to deal with the international shipping (last few have been via Turkey or Malaysia).

I tried searching the forum but didn't come across anything recent

    Thanks,

Note that you can purchase over-the-counter Tylenol #1 and also cough liquid with codeine in it. Up to 500 pills.

I would go to London Drugs online web site or Shoppers Drug Mart online website to find out about the inhaler.

  4. these are hosted singles cruises - if you do a google search, ie singles hosted cruises.....you will find a few companies that do this all year long.

I believe I can't give you the exact name here.....so it is a 3 word company name...with the word Vacations in it.

on their site....you will also find cruises that sometimes offer zero supplement fees or less than the usual 150%.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks

  5. I see they have a cruise to northern Europe 5/28/17 that looks interesting. I have been wanting to go there, but was apprehensive to do it solo. Just might want out. Thank you for your positive response. Any other suggestions/recommendations?

I am not social media savy, what site is it that has solo / single cruises listed?

  6. Yes, I just got back from my 3rd singles hosted cruise with the go places group.

The average age on those 40+ cruises is actually 55. I suggest you sign up for their singles newsletters. After every cruise they have, you will get an email with pictures so you can see who/what goes on these cruises. Their newsletter will even say the average age is 55. By the way, I am over 55.

Actually the cruise I just did was an ALL AGES CRUISE and the average age was late 50's. We even had a 91 yr young woman on our cruise.

Most of the time there are more women than men and most of the women are not looking to hook up or even for a relationship. They just don't want to be doing things by themselves, ie meals, excursions, etc.

Its one week out of your life, what do you have to lose?

Where do you find out about single / solo cruises?
