  1. I've seen that the comedy shows are often listed as 18+ for the 8:30 and later shows. How "adult" are those 8:30 shows? I don't care for really raunchy humor, but don't mind some off-color language/humor. (And don't really want to disrupt our dining reservations around the 6:00 hour.)

    Thanks,

  2. We just did this excursion two days ago. We also enjoyed it very much. As said earlier...the boat is fantastic, and plenty of comfortable seating. Getting on the boat was very easy to the first level, which has indoor and outdoor seating. There's a set of stairs to the second level - not particularly difficult. Entry into the water is via a few stairs that lead to a ladder into the water. OUr daughter has some mobility issues (fear of being off balance, general weakness), but had no trouble at all. There were 60 passengers, but didn't feel crowded at all.

We can't speak to the snorkeling quality, since we chose to just swim. But some on our excursion expressed disappointment by the lack of sea life. We could see that there was LOTS of coral to be seen, even without snorkel gear. And the water was fabulous. The guides provided pool noodles to float around with, life jackets if desired, and a couple of paddle boards.

We absolutely recommend this. We booked through NCL, since we didn't see any non-ship opportunities to book. Interestingly, we were mixed with a group from Celebrity, and they charged $40 more than we paid on NCL!

We are cruising the Escape in November to.  I called to asked a question about the shows and they booked me for Choir of Men.  At least it’s one less thing I have to do when we board.

I saw that several people were successful with booking Choir of Man by calling NCL, so I followed suit. Now a full day later, and the reservation is not showing on my Vacation Summary online. Did you reservation show up with your other booked items online?  Thanks, Kathi

  4. I purchased a Bermuda Stone necklace during my first trip to Bermuda and love it! Returning in a few weeks and would like to add another piece. Recommendations on reasonably-priced stores to explore? (The last time we spent a good amount of time shopping, which I would prefer NOT to do this time.)

    Thanks for any suggestions!

I must have read it wrong the first time. lol One of the excursions I am looking at costs $99 and we will get the $50 credit, so it ends up being $49 per person. I'm thinking that might be worth not having to organize transportation and everything. There will be 8 in our group.

Just checking who you're sailing with? NCL provides $50 PER STATEROOM,  not per person. So for my family of 3, a $99 excursion is discounted to $247 (about $86/person).

The public bus has a lot of kids going to and from school on weekdays as well as adults going to and from work.It will likely be standing room only for tourists unless they are elderly or disabled.

Good news is that the original poster is going in August, when the schools are not in session. (Last day end of June/First day mid-September.) That at least takes care of the students.

Yes. All adults in the cabin will have spa access. When you check-in at the port, "SPA" will be printed on your room key and will give you access to the Thermal Suite starting after muster.

Thank you. Have you experienced this? Our TA said only the first two receive the Spa Pass. But I know sometimes TA's report wrong info.

  8. In my experience, NCL doesn't lead the pack in providing refunds/OBC for changes. We were scheduled to leave NYC the Sunday after Hurricane Irene direct hit NYC, on the Gem to Bermuda. The ship didn't leave until Monday. We were able to high-tail it to have all three days in Bermuda, but lost a full day at sea.

NCL offered $100/CABIN OBC across the board. I don't recall if it was refundable or not, since it was so paltry that we spent ours. For a cabin of three, where it was a good $150-$200/person per day, we came out the losers. Lesson learned. We still sail NCL, but trip insurance is standard for us now.

  9. In reference to the picture with the backpacks - they are all the same backpack......anyone else notice that?

That usually indicates that it is a tour group, where the operator has provided a backpack as a giveaway. I still have mine from 1986!

  10. Absolutely fabulous. We've done the Dolphin and manatee encounters at the Blue Lagoon. Both were trip highlights. Check out the Bahamas forum in the Ports of Call section. A quick search will give you lots of reviews and comparisons with the other available vendors.

  11. Booked a suite for May on BA....first 2 in suite have UDP, UBP and $150OBC each. The 3rd person in the suite has UDP, soda package and $150OBC.

Your 3rd person got $150 OBC as well? $450 total? Ex only got for the first 2 passengers, $300 total. I thought the promotion was up to $300 OBC, so the $450 doesn't sound right to me. Did I miss out on something?

  12. Sorry to hijack this thread into a different direction...but I have a question about refundable OBC. We've always been able to use our travel agent's OBC toward DSC, so I assume that means it was refundable. But that seems to imply that we can take with us whatever was unused...i.e. "refundable." Is that correct?

  13. Does the canopy adjust so its not always in the up shaded position?

I didn't see anyone respond to this part of your question (sorry, if I missed it). The clamshell canopy does indeed go up (for shade) and down (for sun exposure), if desired. And yes, they can't be turned or moved in any way to shift away from the sun.
