I’m thinking the charge to eat in the specialty restaurants will soon increase in order to make the Premier package more appealing.  

Love both of them but haven’t sailed with them in quite awhile. I really miss them. Good to know they are working together again.

Anyone know if suites offer exactly the same amenities on the shorter cruises? Some good prices are being offered on some of the 5 day Caribbean cruises in suite categories.

I am happy to report that we finally received our future cruise credit confirmation letter via email early this morning. I turned it in on the ship on Nov. 5th. They made it effective 11/15/16. I was beginning to lose faith:( ...but Princess came through! :):)

 

I guess if you need the credit sooner rather than later to make a new booking it would be best to sit down with the future cruise consultant while on the ship.

 

Hope anyone else who is waiting is taken care of.

I just watched a video this morning that was posted by Princess on their FB page and after watching it, I have no interest in using Share as one of my dining options. Just does not appeal to me whatsoever.

I saw that video. Worst marketing strategy I ever saw imho. Looked like a bunch of mess thrown on a plate with no thought into making it look appealing. :confused:

Sounded like everyone seated with you gets to put food on your plate. :eek:

I'm sorry you missed him but Ryszard Sulek captivated us every night (except the 1st night) at 9pm in Adagio with both classical and more modern requests, he moved to Crooner's on the last night. You are correct about Explorer's. It seemed to be used for game after game which was a refreshing change for us; it did have some music after 10pm and was used one night for Heat #1 of Princess Pop Star.

I too missed the Pub Lunch, but it's hard to fit everything into a short cruise - next time. ;) When we looked at E-Z Air's schedule it is not listed on short cruises so we knew going in we'd have to schlep our bags.

Yes, I'm sorry I missed it. We were usually still in dining room at that time. They use to have entertaiment there for pre dinner drinks but guess that was awhile back.

There were actually 2 ambulance evacuations in Costa Maya...the first one was in the morning after the (approximately 6am) wake up call we all had in all staterooms requesting the medical response team to report. Plus when we docked in FLL on Saturday morning (I couldn't believe my eyes after the night before) there were several emergency first responder vehicles beside the ship; a gentleman was taken off and I saw a person whom I presume to be a wife being helped into the front of one of the vehicles. Let's hope everyone recovers!

Is that what that announcement was about? That announcement from the bridge woke me up out of a dead sleep and I couldnt quite make it out as I was a little groggy.

Wow! There really were a lot of medical emergencies on that cruise.

I was on the same cruise. While it was very nice, there was a distinct lack of bands and music around the ship. There use to always be different bands playing every evening in the Explorers lounge and I never saw or heard any on this cruise. That was always a lively wing of the ship but not anymore unless it was after I went to bed. No pianist in the Adagio as I use to really enjoy that lounge in the past.

Other things absent were the Pub lunch and EZ Check. It was a 5 day cruise and I guess much of the entertainment was cut back.

I still enjoyed the cruise but wish some of my favorite activities had not been cut.

Does Princess offer this for short (5-day) cruises?

I am going on a short 5 day cruise on the Emerald roundtrip from FLL and will be disappointed if it is not offered. One poster on this thread has already said it is not offered on cruises shorter than 7 days and I hope he/she is incorrect but have no reason to doubt it. :(

Hi Dorothy...I would think they'd make that for your mom & my wife gets virgin piña coladas & thinks she's had a virgin margarita.

The easiest one for them to make is a martini....and empty glass with only an olive in it.....and a G&T is pretty simple, too:D:D:D

Personally, if they are going to do away with Sabatini's then I wish it was on the Royal/Regal where the venue is not so attractive and looks more like a store-front restaurant. To us, we found Sabatini very lacking in ambiance on the Royal which affected our overall enjoyment.

Hi Dorothy, how are you and Joe?? I'm sure you miss Gail as much as we do. What cruises do you have planned, we've finally gotten our life back together after the move and John's Dad's passing and have 4 cruises booked. I'm out of FCC's and even had to book the Royal without them, hoping when we get on the Caribbean Princess and can make an adjustment. Let me know how you're doing.

Hi Joyce. Yes, we do miss Gail very much and still cant believe she is gone. I'm so happy we had the opportunity to cruise with her one last time last October on The Royal.

Going on the Emerald in November and hopefully to Hawaii next year. Also booked on the Regal repo next fall. Sure hope the Emerald will still be intact in November. Will definitely do Sabatinis in that beautiful venue one last time.

Dorothy, we were on Grand Princess the sailing before drydock. Nothing was started that we noticed; however, there were some things going on.

We were chatting with a group in a bar at a port stop who were on the ship to do QUITE things at night.

 

If we hadn't met them, we would have never known ... so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

 

Look forward to having a wonderful cruise on Emerald! :)

Hi Dorothy...based on this other thread & the Princess press release, the Coral would have Sabatini's converted to SHARE during her January drydock to be ready for late January 2016.

I am particularly interested in when the makeover occurs on The Emerald as we are sailing on her in November. We were worried they may start working on it while we are on the cruise. Hopefully, they will wait until December during the scheduled drydock. :)

Hi Dorothy! Interesting question. Not sure if they will do this when underway or in a dry/wet dock. :)

Both Ruby and Emerald have drydocks scheduled in December, I would imagine that's when the updates will happen.

I am very disappointed to see Sabatini's go - I "got" the concept of Northern Italian and really enjoyed it. The room is also stunning on the Emerald and Ruby. Looks like it gets a refresh as it's reinvented for this concept.?

Yes it does appear that the Sabatini venue will undergo a physical change as well as a concept change. Does anyone know how long the renovation will take and if any sailings of the designated ships will be affected by construction?

Great review! Sounds like you really had a great time and made the most of your time on the ship and in the ports.

The Meet and Greet was so nice and just wish there had been more time to chat with all that I met on the rollcall.
