360 is fabulous. The technology amazing  The food incredible. Many waiters so everyone is served at the same time. You are in a private ,high tech room that only seats 20 people.

And the wine....I am not a wine person but is very good, and the stories behind them. The wines are not available anywhere else on the ship. One bottle of the red is actually aged in the Mediterranean sea.

You will see the full story visually.. $500. a bottle & after they poured every one a glass, they left the bottles on the tables if you wanted more !

And then there is the story about the 'happy buffalos'  where the buffalo mozzarella comes from.

    And more fascinating storys.

Although I would not do it again because I heard all the storys, I would Definitely recommend it.

Thank you so much!!!  Booking it now!

We are looking at booking for Alaska 2025.

We usually book premier as we like the speciality dining, the photos, and the $20 drink limit.  Looking at the list of benefits when I go through the booking process it looks as though a few things are no longer included.

It no longer lists speciality dining, Princess Prizes, or Photos as a benefit for the premier package.  Did they change things again recently?

The benefits still show when you read the info on the main website, just not when making this particular booking (Discovery Princess 24 Aug 2025)

    Did I miss something?

That is interesting. I just booked on Monday for November and the Premier package in the US still have specialty dining and photos.

No, The value of the 360 Experience is $149.95 I believe.  That would not be in line with the specialty dining credit/perk. I think that is about $35.00.  360 is more similar to the Chef's Table or Wine Maker's Table.  I did it and it was fantastic, but yes it is pricey.

So, highly recommended? It's our anniversary and I thought this, or the Winemakers dinner, would be a nice celebration.

We enjoy both ports, just know what you're planning in advance.

Costa Maya has lots of options at the port, we enjoy going to Maya Chan for the day.  But as someone else said, beaches have been rough with sargassum.  We have been twice, last time in December.  They said the sargassum is getting worse for more of the year now. But the included transportation, private palapa area, great drinks, amazing lunch, etc all make it worth it. 🙂

Belize is a tender port, so know you may not make it if seas are rough.  There isn't much near the port, so plan ahead what you want to do.  We've gone cave tubing several times.  The port has become more commercialized, believe it or not, in the past 10 years or so, but it isn't as shiny and clean as Costa Maya.  Worst part about Belize is waiting for a tender back to the ship.

Mexico has installed a barrier in Mahajual to lessen the Sargassum on the beaches. Most places clean it off their beach area, but not all. I highly recommend Nacional Beach Club in Mahajual for a beach break. It's higher in cost than many, but so well worth it! They have the best beach in the Costa Maya region.

I know this is YOUR opinion, but if you have been to either Costa Maya or Belize, which port would you prefer, and why?

I love them both. two of my favorite ports. But the Costa Maya region of Mexico is paradise. If I had to choose between these two, I'd always pick the Costa Maya. And if you want an excellent beach break, check out the Nacional Beach Club in Mahajual.

Poor babies!  We are not talking about cruising into a major hurricane (that happened to me on the old Celebrity Meridian) but simply moving into some rough seas.  To avoid those seas would have meant going hundreds of miles off course (assuming they had the time), being at least 1 or 2 days late into port (causing major issues for those aboard and all those waiting for the next cruise), etc.  Many of those now whining because they had a rough night would have whined because they missed their flights, had their schedule messed-up, etc.  My goodness, just look at the Carnival blog and you can already see folks asking about "compensation."  For what?  A rough night.

Like I said, my recent cruise had nearly a week of constant rough gale force weather.  So what?  We never heard anyone asking for compensation.  If you are on an airline flight that hits some turbulence, should you get compensation?

While I agree with you that being a day or two late might be necessary for safety, if the info is correct that the Sunshine hit 70MPH winds and 17foot seas....this is just not that big of a deal under normal circumstances.  That is why we are curious about the water issues inside that ship.

    Hank

We sailed to Bermuda on Celebrity Zenith and it was a small ship. We sailed on the south side of a hurricane. It was ROUGH, and some people were scared. Many were motion sick, including the crew, and barf bags everywhere, But we made it to Bermuda, had a terrific vacation and the trip back to the east coast was smooth as ice!

We were also on Celebrity Infinity going into Hilo and we listed A LOT. It was early morning and most everyone was in bed. Everything in our cabin went flying and lots of broken glass. We picked up Border and Customs personnel and left Hilo because the storm was coming in and we wouldn't have been able to leave Hilo if we stayed. Still a GREAT trip!

  7. Thank you for your very informative report!

In fact, tours were just recently opened up for our cruise on the Regal from Copenhagen to NYC and I went in and booked our tour for Berlin immediately as, I too, opted for a Princess tour due to the distances involved! And we booked the same Ultimate Berlin small group tour that you just took! Was so glad to hear your good report on it and now am more excited than ever for next September to arrive!

    Pooh

When are you going next fall? We are on Regal on this cruise August 28, 2019.

  8. If the drugs are of a similar quality as the diamonds, I hope your will is up to date.

Seriously though, doesn't anyone on this thread have health insurance w/script benefits?

I have health insurance with prescription benefits AFTER I hit my $1600 deductible thanks to Barrack Obama. It's Consumer Driven Health Care Plans. It sucks. I want my HMO back!

  9. I searched for this but didn't find an answer since 2010.

We used Victor Bodden tours last time we were in Roatan and loved them, but it was a crappy/rainy day and I would have rather not paid the $100 for our tour and stayed on the ship. We have been to Roatan a few times.

On past cruises, we have always docked in Coxen Hole and now on Carnival, we are docking at Mahogany Bay. Will Victor have a kiosk where we can get a tour on the pier rather than booking in advance. Depending on our mood, we may just want to go to the beach and veg and can take a taxi or we may want to do the Iguana Farm and tour some before the beach.

Has anyone just asked when you get off the ship at Victor's kiosk for a tour? We don't want one of the "formal" tours but more of a play it by ear, ask the driver where we should go on that day.

    Thanks.

  10. When in Mexico, I always drink a Chelada. It's lime juice and beer on ice with a salted rim. If you prefer, you can have a Michelada which is a Chelada with spices. Both are absolutely delicious. Hard to get in the US because bars use Rosa's Lime which is sweetened so not the same. I'm ready for my Chelada day on Cozume.

  11. They speak Portuguese in Brazil. You should call your cruise line!

Yes, they do speak Portuguese in BRAZIL. But they speak English, Cajun and Spanish in Belize along with a "native" language that is a combination of all three. Their official language is English because before they became an independent nation, they were British Honduras.

  12. We always go outside the port area in Belize City. You can get dollar Belekins and lots of fun stuff. I got my toenails painted there for $5 (my stuff). I Love Belize City and the country of Belize. We would like to retire there. We have snorkeled the reef, toured Belize City in a pony cart and took at taxi to the Belekin Brewery and had a ball (we were the only two visitors)!

  13. When did you hear from her?

    We are most certainly open!

    Why would someone post otherwise?

Can you correct them please as that post could devastate us!!

    Angela

  14. I saw on a post that Sante was closed. This is NOT true. I emailed Angela and she said they are open and welcome their cruise clients for day spa services. If you love the spa and are going to Roatan, you should visit Sante Wellness Retreat. It is an amazing place and the treatments are fabulous!

  15. We will be visiting Roatan on 1/6/15 and are currently considering our options We visited Roatan in 2009 and fell in love with the island during a visit to the now closed Sante Day Spa.

    .

Why do you say Sante Day Spa is closed? When did they close?

We did a tour thorough Victor Bodden last time we were in Roatan and had a great time. We went to the Iguana Farm and loved it. We did the beach and some other things I can't remember off the top of my head. It wasn't too expensive and a lot of fun.

  16. The per day price is just a break out if the cost. If you buy before you go, they charge that $55 time the number of days of your cruise. I think you can buy the package up to a certain point on the cruise but they still charge for all the days remaining. So, you run a regular tab up to the point you get the package. You have to drink a lot each day if you feel you need to 'break even'. We bought the premium package last year just for the certainty in our budget. We did not worry about break even but also knew our bill amount was set vs. getting into the mood every day aka carte and getting a shock at the end if the cruise. No wrong way to go, just was suits you and your budget.

How do the bartenders know you have the package? Is it on your sea card?
