    Me, personally, I'd do Princess.

NCL would be for us especially that new ship Encore with that GoCart track and water park! NCL has awesome entertainment, we have been on Getaway, Peal, Dawn, Escape and Epic .Always had great service and been please with them. Lots of bells and whistles from the reviews of the Encore. I cant speak to the Princess Cruises but i do believe they are a step up from NCL an in a different class.

I'm debating cancelling my cruise.  So far, I have only paid a $500 deposit.  I have a solo cabin booked.  I don't want to be quarantined for 2 wks in a solo cabin.  The virus seems to be spreading even with the quarantine.  My flights are booked for Rome.  I can just do an Italy trip.  Thoughts?

I would hold off, wife and I got one plan out of Barcelona for Greek Isles in September 2020, already bought airline and made the $900 deposit we plan on going. I think this will blow over if it does not the crusielines will let you know ahead of time, they are keeping tabs on this virus. Also the airlines and cruise companies are well aware of the situations around the globe. My thinking if you got money involved now you might not get anything back if you cancel.

  3. You might ask on the Ports of Call board for Europe. Lots of discussions on the best way to get to and from Civitavecchia. EM

I see you are going on the Equinox in August. We just got off it today from a 7 day cruise, excellent service on board, great food! We too are planing a overseas trip to Greek Isles on the Celebrity Edge in 2019. Smooth sailing this August...God Bless

  4. Having never flown or taken a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale I am curious as to the time it takes to get through customs and to the airport. Anyone?:)

Wife just came back from cruise 12/16/17 on Harmony of Seas and had a booked flight to Charlotte, NC for a departure of 10:00 AM, we took the "express service" off Harmony, meaning we rolled our own bags off the ship. We were at the Fort Laurendale airport at 7:15AM, airport is 10 minutes from the port.

  5. First time cruise debarking outside the USA. Can someone give advice about embarking from Barcelona, Spain port? Airport to hotel taxi? Hotel recommendation? Figuring per-cruise 2 days in Barcelona, departing Spain the last day of the cruise. What about taxi to airport? plentiful from port? If you have done this rodeo before give me some good tips..Thanks

  6. What are the pros/cons of getting a table in the MDR for just your family/group versus sharing a larger table with strangers.

Best/worst experiences for each way (alone/ with strangers)?

We have been on about 14 cruises, I like to dine with strangers, we have had some very interested conversations and met some great folks. I remember the worst experience was with two guys sitting at a table of 8, both of them were in their 30's one had too much to drank and made a butt of himself so much that his friend got embarrassed and left the table. Another cruise we sit at a table with 6 people, the one couple was pretty odd and quiet, that had a big doll in one of the chairs and the girl was acting as if she was feeding the doll, they told us they take the doll everywhere, that it had its own Facebook page which they updated daily on what the doll was doing...Weird!

Worst is if they are drinking too much, with no manners. Best is those that talk about their excursions are other cruises they have been own and also where they are from and careers. If wife and I have family are friends is hands-down eat with family and friends we are on cruise with.

  7. Bring ship card and picture ID. Thats mostly all you need with loop cruises from from a US port starting your cruise and ending your cruise in US port. However if using a outside vendor for excursion other than ship sponsor bring passport and credit cards just in case you miss the ship which is rare. You will than need it for flight.

  8. I have crusie out of MIA and FLL airports, both on Sunday and Saturday I know you can make a departing flights out by 11:00 AM, but you need to be first off the ship, that means self-assist taking your own luggage off and grabbing a taxi. Wife and I just came off Carnival Vista in Miami, ship to MIA, less than an hour! We met with our luggage at 6:30AM in lounge area, went though Customs and grab a taxi and at airport by 8:00AM , another 30 minutes in security check you are than at the Gate.

  9. If you like to watch jets land and the beach with a bar go to Maho Beach! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maho_Beach

    or

Take a taxi to Orient Beach

The cruise lines offer excursions to both locations, you can book online with a high rated tour company as well go to tripadvisor to see reviews. Enjoy

  10. Wife and I have a flight out at 11:20 AM on the morning (a Thursday) we get off Harmony of the Seas in Civitavecchia. I have been told it takes about an hour to get to the airport. I posed the same question in an email to Romecabs and they stated a pickup at 8AM would get me to the airport with no problems and save for the flight. Can anyone tell me if this is sufficient time? I feel like we will be OK but don't know much about the travel overseas.

    Thanks

  11. Hello all, a firefighter from SC. Looking forward to a September cruise on the Carnival Magic. I see some here have been on a back to back cruises, just wondering how that all worked out if theirs any advice out there, thanks. We are looking at a cruises back to back but two different boats next year.

    God Bless Ya

  12. Yep.NCL is a great company. Wife and never been disappointed with them. From experience they have and edge over RCI.. Example. Entertainment..I mean NCL has variety. You can get the typically song and dance on all cruises but NCL mixes it up. Magic, circus, blueman group, second city comedy, mystery dinner, just plain good shows..on the dining side the specialty restaurants they beat the steakhouse on RCI hands down. I mean you get a 9 0z steak with NC L its 18-20 0z!

  13. My wife and I are doing Yardie tours. They are taking us to Dunn Falls and highlights of ocho rios they had high reviews on tripadvisor. We on the rollcall for Freedom of Seas March 2,2014
