  1. I am hoping someone recently on the Edge if you can tell me what types of beer are at the pool and also what size they are?  Last time I was on a cruise they were the aluminum bottles and I am trying to plan my brumate choices for packing.

    Thanks!

  2. There are times they have the “wave” sale for new bookings only and we had them tell us they can’t honor them. They told us they have them about once a month around the 25th. Don’t know if this is true but its what we were told.

  3. I snagged a $100 onboard credit for RCCL cruise and a free 5 day cruise on carnival in the last month..

Both were very easy to do. The carnival cruise we were going to have to pay $147 and upgraded to a 4j for $70 and realized we had a credit from cancelling a cruise called back and they let us use that $200 to upgrade to a balcony. Long story short for less than $400 total we are going June 2 on the cruise.

I’m no expert but it seems like the cruises come available around 11 am or 12 pm central time. Everyday at lunch I just check my rewards page. I’ve seen them come available on a Wednesday Thursday and a Friday but that is just my observation.

My husband is concerned if we will get something to send in with our taxes?

  4. We were just in 1840 and would not recommend it. The stairs right outside you can here people going up and down them. Also all the kids on the ship go up to the deck above and stomped around. About 7 am they start to put out the deck chairs on the deck above. We had read about it and thought it would be ok, while it didn't ruin our cruise it was a nuisance. If there is any deck 12 further forward I would jump on it. We had one in April closer to the front and had no noise. It is so convenient to the solarium pool and the windjammer.

  5. You are right. We don't sail until October. When I called celebrity they said it was available but everything I read says it's not. I will post when we come back if it is. I hope so. It will be easier as we don't fly until late that night

  6. Has anyone used the luggage valet on celebrity summit? If so how does it work? It seems like a great deal because our flight is not until 630pm and we didn't want to deal with keeping up with it. Thanks in advance for your replies!

  7. go to the pork pit. They cook it out on a large open pit and it is awesome.

couple it with a red stripe beer and it is about as jamaican as you can get.

We had a guide and asked him to find us an authentic place and he took us there. there were many locals there at the same time.

  8. Perhaps this has been covered in the preceding 26 pages but can anyone speak to the massages at Playa Uvas. Cost? Quality? Setting?

    Any guidance is appreciated.

My wife had one on our last trip. She said the massage was wonderful and well worth the low price. I believe the prices are listed on the Playa Uvas web site.

    Hope this helps,

    Kevin

  9. We went to Playa Uvas during our Halloween Cruise. We visited their web site prior to our cruise. I needed to find a place that I could dive and the wife could just hang out and get a massage. Playa Uvas was perfect. We pre-registered and they sent us an invoice via paypal to pay a deposit. When we arrived, they immediately knew who we were and everything was set up perfectly. I went on a two tank boat dive and DW got her massage. Upon return from my dive I ate an order of Chicken Quisadillas that were excellent. Two non-alcholic drinks per person were included with the day fee. Overall the facilities were very good and I highly recommend Playa Uvas as my new favorite beach spot in Cozumel. We are going back when we again cruise to Cozumel in April.

  10. Playa Uvas Review:

We arrived on the Carnival Conquest. We got a cab and went directly to Playa Uvas. Immediately upon arriving, I was very impressed by the condition of the property. We have been to many of the beach clubs in Cozumel, but this was by far the prettiest yet. The grounds were well kept and the employees were very friendly. We had pre-booked a two tank boat dive for me and a massage for the wife. When we arrived I realized I had left my copy of our confirmation on the boat. No problem, they did not need to see it, they had our reservation in their book.

I got set up for my dive and the wife and another couple that were with us, took advantage of the massage and the facilities. There are many large white padded couch type of loungers. The beach was immaculate and very clean. My wife told me that the massage was very good. There were a lot of see thru ocean kayaks.

My dive boat arrived and I went out for my two tank dive. The boat was from another dive operator (Caribe Dive) and was well run. Our first dive was deep. I went to 96 feet along the wall. Lots of good coral at Palancar Caves. The second dive was at Paradise Reef. At the end of the second dive we observed 3 black tip reef sharks and I was able to get close enough to get some fairly nice photos of them using my dive camera.

Upon return to the Beech Club, I ate some of the best food that I have had while in Cozumel. The food and drinks were very good. Overall I would highly recommend Playa Uvas as a place to enjoy the day in Cozumel. I would not recommend the ships tours to Playa Uvas as you only get to stay at the beech club for about 1-2 hours. My wife said that while I was diving several ships excursions arrived and stayed for an hour or so and then left to get back to the boat. I don’t believe that would be enough time to really enjoy the place. Go there and stay the entire day and you won’t be disappointed.

I was very happy that we had booked the day at Playa Uvas and will go back there next time we visit Cozumel.
