  1. We are parking in the cruise parking lot A or B. It is where we have always parked. It has been several years since I have used it. In the past they wanted you to drop off your luggage at the ship then park and shuttle back to the cruise terminal. Then the last cruise they said to drive to the cruise parking lot and they loaded passengers and all of their luggage and took us to the terminal. So, which way are they doing it now? I figure whatever I do will be wrong. It is faster to go straight to the parking lot.

    Thanks!

    Britney,

I was hoping to meet you on the cruise. I let out a sigh of relief when the captain said that everyone was aboard. That let me know that your daughter made it.

We had an envelope in our cabin about the M & M, but had something else at that time the kids wanted to do. Didn't you also have a teenage son? My GS lived on the Flow Rider. My GD and I rode Thunder Bay. We loved it.

Our Family Oceanview cabin I was so worried about was awesome! It was 2268 and the last cabin on that floor that was a dead end hallway. There was a separate tiny room that had a set of bunk beds in it and a closet. My grandkids loved sleeping in there. We had closets everywhere. It was really great with 2 of the large round windows. I came clean with my cabin attendant about my naughty bag and what was in it. He left the cabin and came back with all of our 10 pieces of luggage extension cord, fan, wine, steamer and all. I had time to get everything put away before we sailed.

I really enjoyed the cruise and am going to see if I can book another one for the 4th of July sale. This one was so very fast paced with the grandkids along. I need a laid back cruise now. Everyone was really great on this cruise. My GD has a gluten-free diet. It was a challenge, but everyone in all of the different dining venues went out of the way to make her happy. They do need to expand on that menu, though.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you, but happy to hear you had a good time. I totally loved that cruise director. He had more energy than the Energizer rabbit. We enjoyed the 70s dance night and made it on the video several times.

Maybe we will have a chance to meet on a future cruise.

  3. This person reviewed your cabin

Hopefully you will not have of the maintenance issues they had. Maybe check Youtube, I have seen video of cabins this way before, even same cabin number on Freedom of the Seas & I think Independence of the Seas SHOULD have same type of window. :) See you in a couple weeks!

Curiosity got the better of me, I looked on YouTube....https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PWK_aYXNoyc

I just found 2 more reviews for our exact cabin and they were both very positive. One said that a lot of the performers seem to stay on that deck. Also talked about how roomy it was with 6 people and we only will have 4. So this time in 18 days we will be tired from Cozumel and headed for Grand Cayman! Oh YES!!!!!!

    Britney,

Thanks for the info. I am the most hot natured person there is. The thought of no A/C would be a nightmare for me. I always bring a fan with me, but had to fight them to keep it the last time. I might end up having to sleep on the promenade deck! Was happy to hear there is a window to love...just wish it would open. LOL!! should be larger than the one on Freedom because it is a family oceanview and sleeps 6. Guess we will see...in 18 days!!!!

    Thanks,

    Karen

  5. Wife and I will be sailing tomorrow on Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas!

Will be happy to post impressions and pictures along the way. Our focus will be on service, food, rooms, and internet.

Feel free to ask any questions.

I'll be doing detailed "Voom" testing on the ship. Please no requests to ping World Of Tanks.

I am cruising on Liberty on June 12th. I have always had a balcony cabin, but this time there will be 4 of us, so I got a family oceanview cabin. We are going to be in 2246 (on deck 2 close to ice rink). What I would like to know is does the cabin have the large windows, or just the little porthole windows. I think I will suffocate if it is the porthole size. I have asked my agent and she claims it will be the larger windows and not the porthole, but I don't want to be surprised.

Thanks and have a great cruise!

  6. In the early 2000's both Carnival and RCL had two ships going out of Galveston. Not sure for how long though, at least a few years if I remember correctly.

Actually in 2004-2007 RCCL had two ships in Galveston. They were Rhapsody of the Seas and Splendour of the Seas. Around 2004 they also had a Celebrity ship there for a very limited time. I wish they would bring a Celebrity ship back because they are having some good deals being offered on their cruises lately. I would like to see RCCL offer Southern Caribbean or the Bahamas out of Galveston. I just cannot handle Mexico anymore.

  7. I'm not sure what you're saying. If we BOOK in September the rates will be much lower? I really don't feel comfortable waiting until the last minute. I looked at the rates now for the end of September date we need and it's $259/night.

I usually book a room at two different places...where I really want to stay and a place I will settle for. I keep checking the prices every couple of weeks. When I feel confident the price will probably not drop any lower, then I cancel one. If the price drops on my favorite one, then I call and have them give me the new lower rate. A lot of the hotels on the island will have a shuttle to the ships.

Our favorite place to eat is The Landing aka Millers' Landing on Seawall Blvd. It has great Gulf seafood at very reasonable prices and no dressing up required. Good luck!

  8. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. My Christmas was so special I do not think I will ever forget it. After all the gifts were opened, I surprised my grandson with a little scavenger hunt for gifts with attached clues. One was a check for $55, which led him to the passport application that will cost $55. It ended with a 2016 Beaches calendar. I had found photos of my grands when they were little tykes at the beach or in our pool. I cut those out and pasted them as pop-ups on the different beach photos in the calendar. It looked so real and everyone really was impressed. Then I made a countdown to the cruise on each day from now until the 12th of June. When he got to June and saw he was going on a cruise, he was totally shocked, and even cried he was so overwhelmed. It is going to be his graduation present. It will be me, my daughter and my granddaughter along with him. He is so excited and just loves the calendar. He has it next to his bed and is ticking off the days. It just adds to my excitement, too. I love it when someone is so excited over a gift.

  9. While this wasn't taken on a cruise, I thought it was funny when I opened the ice cream container the other day & saw this looking back at me as if to say...'I thought you wanted to lose before you cruise...?!'

Wouldn't happen to be Blue Bell ice cream, would it? I have opened several containers of late that would have a face on the inside. But unfortunately, it hasn't stopped me from eating it!
