  1. Having bought 8 FCC (4 for me and 4 for DW) on 11/19 cruise our next b/b cruise in 11/20 was cancelled due to covid. We're doing a b/b/b this November hopefully when the CDC and FL officials resolve the covid passport issue. My question is don't the FCC we bought generate some OBC depending on interior/balcony cabin and length of cruise? Appreciate help refreshing my memory.

    Thanks

  2. Having to attend a wedding in Seattle on 7/27 the day the Ruby returns to Seattle we seem to be locked in the 7/20 Ruby (perhaps the most expensive week to cruise in Alaska.)

First time to Alaska for DW and I and debating inside or balcony and saving $1500 by going inside.

What's the consensus do you save and spend time on deck and on excursions or spring for the balcony?

Just found out the wedding venue is north of Seattle so will also look into another departure port/date.

Looking for feedback from experienced Alaska travelers.

    Thanks

  3. Can't comment on MDR as we don't go there.

From 11/1/18 we spent 17 days in the Sanctuary on the Regal and the service could not have been better. Zaza from Macedonia got our loungers arranged as needed and the staff was attentive at all times. Whether it was a drink from the bar, a lunch or ice water or iced towels they were always available and pleasant. In fact Diana one of the crew had the best smile on the ship.

  4. Having spent full cruises in the Sanctuary we've tipped extra to the two or three or more sanctuary folk who have gone out of their way for us or just knew when I needed more ice or another ice cold towel.

Irina on the Regal was the best head of the Sanctuary ever (understand she's on the Star now) and couldn't do enough for us.

  5. You can't beat the buffet on the Royal and Regal.

From the size and layout you have to reconnoiter all the aisles before you choose your foods.

In the morning in the back row they have two omelette stations.

Their salad bar items are varied and excellent.

Plenty of nuts, cheese and breads to choose.

They have a pasta station each night.

    Won't leave hungry.

  6. Just got off 17 day b/b 11/1 and 11/11.

The 11/1 was free unlimited internet for platinum and elite.

I thought it worked pretty well with an occasional hiccup, the speed was fast.

Early on my wife tried to log on and a message said she had used all her time.

I went downstairs to the internet cafe and then set her up pronto.

For the 11/11 I thought we would each get only 250 minutes but we had 500 as they gave us 250 unused from 11/1 and the 250 for the 11/11 cruise.

There were a couple of hiccups again in the 11/11 cruise that were speedily fixed downstairs. Those guys were saints dealing with a bunch of dinosaurs like myself.
