Who cares. My next cruise is to Alaska so we have the obligatory waste of time in having to stop in Canada for 5 hours (5p to 10p; like what in God's earth are you going to do with that time frame when you are packed for disembark 12 hours later) so we will have to test regardless. I would not be surprised if the Canadian government has this in place still come summer 2023.

This is us exactly!  Don't even plan on stepping foot into Canada, but still have to test.

Test everyone before flying to Seattle, no sense getting on the plane if you have someone positive.  We flew into Seattle on a Saturday and sailed on Monday, so we had to test in Seattle for the two day timeframe.  The proctored test from the hotel worked fine.  Make sure you do the ArriveCan for everyone, even if you do not plan on getting off in Victoria it is still required.

As far as being stuck in Seattle because of covid, I tested positive and had to quarantine on the ship and then finish my time in a hotel in Seattle prior to flying home.  You do not need to isolate for 7 days, CDC requires a 5 day isolation followed by 5 days of masking.  The cruise line currently will pay $250/day towards a hotel room and $100/day towards food.  This is per person, not per family, so it really helps with the cost.  You submit receipts to the cruise line and they reimburse you.  The cruise line arranges transfers from the ship to the hotel but you have to find a hotel.  I stayed at a Marriott at the airport that had a 24 hour free shuttle to the airport and also had very good room service.  Some hotels in the area have not started room service back up since covid, so call the hotel directly to check before booking.  I know the Embassy near the airport wasn't doing room service in May when I was sick.

Thanks for the helpful information.  The problem for us is that we are flying in several days early to be sure we are there since all the airlines are playing around with delays and cancellations so much, so testing before we leave home would not really be helpful.  So the plan is to test in Washington, and then if we have to cancel the cruise, just try to find something else to do for the 7 days.  We have been to Seattle many times before and there is really nothing that we would want to see again.

  3. We are right there with you on the stress level!  Sailing out of Seattle for a Alaskan cruise in August and we live in Michigan.  There are 5 of us going, and have three staterooms booked.  DH and I are paying for everything as a treat for our kids, so that will include the pre cruise testing that is still in place.  Since our cruise has a stop in Canada, even if Royal Caribbean stopped the testing requirement, I think we would have still had to do it for Canada.  Could care less about even getting off the ship in the 5 hours we are in Canada.

What I am planning on doing is taking 15 of the free government home tests with me and we will all take a pre-test of sorts before I schedule all the proctored tests.  That way if one of us tests positive on the pre-tests I would only schedule that person for a proctored test and see what happens.  It would save the $80 in the other proctored tests, since I think that we would all have to cancel the cruise since it would be a close contact situation.  What a stressful mess.  We would all then be stuck in Seattle for a week trying to figure out something to do before our flight back home in 7 days.  This is our 20th cruise and these requirements are definitely sucking the joy out of our anticipation.

  4. I really enjoyed reading your detailed review! Laughed out loud in a couple of places, especially your 'other cruisers' section. We have not sailed on the Oasis, but have on the Allure and found you to be spot on with some of our experiences as well. Made me realize that even after the entire 7 days, we never made it to the Solarium which looks beautiful!! We are booked on the Harmony for January 2017, so if they have a Solarium, I'm gonna find it!!!!

  5. So I am still trying to figure out if it IS the same show, same comedian for every show every night? I told the rep after he booked the shows that if I do find out it's the exact same show every night that I would just go in and cancel all the duplicates and he said that I didn't have to do that. Has anyone gone more than one night on their cruise and heard different comedy acts?

  6. Today is the 90 day mark for our upcoming cruise and I received an email saying I could book the dining, entertainment, etc. I went into My Cruises and was able to book day 1 with no problems. After that I kept getting a "Credit Card" error message even though everything I was attempting to book was 'complimentary'. So I called to try and get some assistance with my bookings. The agent was able to book the remaining days for me, however he told me when I was making my nightly comedy club reservations that I was booking the same show over and over. So, did I just spend a half hour on the phone to book the same comedy show 7 times? He also stated that he noticed that I didn't make a reservation for their most popular show "Cats", but when I look at the schedule the show on my sailing is "Chicago", so I figure he could be as wrong about the comedy club show as he was about the broadway show.

  7. Hi everyone..we are booked on the Allure in January and I am waiting patiently (not so much) for when we are able to make our show reservations. Does anyone know if the early comedy shows are more family oriented and the later shows more adult themed or are they all the same material??

Check this site out. Have not parked here yet, but plan to park here in Oct. for our cruise.

We did check Park N Go out and their prices are reasonable but they do say they can force valet parking if they are busy and since we will be leaving quite a bit of stuff in our vehicle during our cruise, we just dont think we want anyone keeping our keys and having easy entry access. I wish I knew how often their forced valet parking happened.

  9. All I can say is don't do it! Read the post about this company. We use Premier in Tampa and what a nightmare! 2 shuttle vans for all those people plus their luggage. I think the saying is you get what you pay for. My suggestion go with the other compant

After doing some searching we have pretty much decided to just park at the port. We want nothing to do with any of the 'valet' style parking places. Sure would like to know how Premier Parking stays in business though since they get such horrible reviews. It's nice to hear from someone with some actual experience with their service, so thanks for posting.

  10. We are cruising in January 2015 and will be driving for the first time in a long time so looking for a place to park our car. Premier Parking is by far the cheapest place which is $47.40 for the 7 days. Don't really like the idea of it being valet only, but in checking with Park N Go their rate is $7.99 a day and it says that they could force valet parking also if it is busy. Park N Fly rate is $12.00 a day, so not much cheaper than the $15 a day to park right at the port.

I have also checked many of the hotels for a pre-cruise 1 night stay and also parking for the car for the duration of the cruise. Those options are certainly not budget friendly it doesn't look like. I would love to hear anyone's opinions on Premier Parking.
