We started cruising back in the classical days of cruising (2002) 🙂 when there were two formal and two semi-formal evenings per cruise.  We loved “dressing” for dinner, since we never do that at home.  The advantage of wearing tuxes usually got us free drinks at the bar...or that may have been the drink package...no, I’m sure it was the tuxes. 🙂 

Just bought a new very nice tux from Joseph A Banks this last week for our cruise on the Equinox next month. It was $179.  To us, “Chic” is still dressing up. We only get a couple of chances a year to dress formally, and take advantage of it.  It’s amazing how many other passengers comment on how well you look while wearing a tux.  Granted, it’s not the most comfortable attire, but it sure is fun to dress formally for a few hours for dinner. The rest of the dinners are in slacks and comfortable button-up shirts.

My husband and are booked on our first Christmas cruise!  Any other FODs on board?  We love Holland America ships and are very excited to escape the cold Mid West weather.

We are currently on the Reflection as well. First time on Celebrity (usually sail Princess and Holland America) and we are loving it! Beautiful ship and so many outgoing and interesting fellow passengers. We have met numerous genuinely nice people just in the last 6 hours. Luminae was delightful with great service and very tasty dishes. We now know why so many people enjoy this dining venue. The high speed internet is working great! Speed test shows 5 Mbs and it is possible to stream videos and listen to Pandora without any hiccups. It was a great surprise to see that XCellerate was installed and working for this cruise. Best internet we have ever experienced at sea. Can't wait to explore more of the ship tomorrow.

Fantastic! We leave tomorrow for Boca Raton then the cruise on Sturday! We are ready fo some warm weather!

We just booked and are excited to cruise on Celebrity for the first time! We have been on 13 cruises (lucky 13) and this one is our honeymoon! We look forward to meeting other FODs on board. 😘

On Saturday Night John and I will be having Dinner at a sports bar in Fort Lauderdale right across from the beach at a place called THE VILLAGE GRILL. Im a big time New England Patriots fan and John loves the Indy Colts.The game starts at 815pm if anyone is interested.Its Mutany on the Bounty one before the cruise between John and I lol.....Im glad its Saturday and not Sunday then we would be going crazy trying to get the game on the ship! The Village Grill is on rt A1A and at the Commercial Blvd corner. If any of you go you can call John and I on my cell phone at 401-477-6852. Sunday night at 700pm at the Vine is great for us...Five days and two hours lolllll....THE VILLAGE GRILL 4404 EL MAR DRIVE LAUDERDALE BY THE SEA THERE PHONE IS 954-776-5840 NEVER been here but they say its a great sports bar with good seafood and burgers at good prices.....

We may be eating dinner at a friends restaurant but will let you know tomorrow. Are you guys here already?

We made it and it is cloudy but after -20 it feels great! Did some shopping and it's 1 minute until 5 so cocktails on the balcony! Ready for the cruise!

I was up around 4 AM and very excited to leave the freezing weather behind us! All packed (I forgot how much stuff we pack for a cruise) boarding passes printed off and now we have to wait until 2:45 PM to take off! It's been @ 3 years since we were on a cruise and we are excited for some R&R and to meet everyone! See y'all very soon!

Let's all meet at 7:00 on the first night (Sunday) at Vines before dinner. Does that work for everyone? We re soooo ready for ome warmth and sun!

We need to set up a time to meet everyone. We will be attending the CC meet and greet but if y'all aren't going to that we should agree to meet at one of the bars the first night before dinner or earlier? It's cold as Canada here with wind chills of -10 to -30 until Wednesday! We are getting out of the cold this Thursday to FTL and will thaw out before the cruise! Can't wait to be in the SUN!

hi eric and martin,,im gary and my friend john will be on the Royal Jan12-19.John is a diehard canadiens fan,,and im the Bruins fan lol..we have a late sitting at 815pm and looking for some FODs to have dinner with us.We usually like a table of 8 or 10 its more fun. We are getting a major snow storm thursday into friday hope we will be able to dig out by next Friday when we fly to Fort Lauderdale..If you have other dinner plans it will be fun to meet you guys and zellbrad and ken!10 days to go!!!!Happy New Year

Hi Gary and John! We are doing the anytime dinning option. You can join us if you like. ;) we will have to plan a cocktail party for the FODs in our cabin or if there are a lot of y'all we can meet in a bar before dinner. We are both excited to get some sun and warm weather!

Almost there! We fly into Ft Lauderdale next Thursday!!!! Is everyone going to the CC meet and greet? If so we will meet you all there, if not do you want to plan on meeting somewhere on the first day? We are both looking forward to some SUN!

Parties? Lol it's still a mini suite. :) We have been in full suites on Holland America and they were great for canapés and cocktails before dinner. Zell handles which room were in but I know were up high in the middle and have a larger balcony. I just can't remember. :) It will be great meeting you and yes we are for the land of Dorothy!

Sounds great! We are in very cold Kansas City. We will be in Ft Lauderdale a couple days before the cruise and I'm sure we will be ready for warm weather. :)

My better half and I will be on the Royal January 12-19. We've been on Princess before but this will be our first on the new Royal. Can't wait!

There are always FODs on board. :) we haven't been on a cruise for a couple years so were excited to go on another cruise. Are you cruising solo or bringing a better (or not so better) half?
