  1. I am going to do my first solo cruise in just over 8 weeks . I am looking forward to it , but also a little apprehensive. I am not the sort of person that enjoys the main dinning even if I am traveling with someone, so it will be the lido deck for me . As much a I am looking forward to having time to myself I would also like to mix with others when it suits me. It seems that the best way to meet people is in the dinning room , because I will be dinning in the lido meeting people will be harder for me .

  2. This will be my first time going solo , and my first time on a Cunard ship. Just wanted to know if there are many solo travelers or is this a very much couples line. Wanted to do this trip for the formal nights and the destination. This was my dream holiday , but I have times when I think have I done the right thing. So if anyone has done a solo trip on Cunard , or is going on the QV May 5th it would be nice to get some feed back.

  3. I am a first time solo cruiser and was wondering what is the best way to book my excursions. Do I book before I sail or book on the ship. I was also looking at booking through another cruise excursions company we have used before a few times and they have always been reliable and cheaper. Will be on Cunard Queen Victoria in May doing the fjord's.

  4. HI everyone

This is going to be my first solo cruise , I have cruised before but not on such a high class ship. Can anyone give me some tips about sailing alone please . I am sailing from Southampton to Norway through the fjord's May 2018.

    Thank you .

  5. Let me give you one very important piece of advice on MSC. On my solo European cruise, they had assigned tables (5 years ago, not sure how much has changed). If you find yourself in that situation and you don't like your tablemates it is permissible and ok to ask to be reseated/reassigned. The maître d' thought as a single woman I would be pleased to sit with two families with children. I was not. We had nothingy to talk about, but I didn't know until I got home that you could ask to switch. I spent a couple nights in the buffet because I really didn't want to go back to that table. Had I known, I would have been out of there. Also, they don't automatically serve water at the table, so they gave the American guests water coupon books for free water to use at meals. If they don't serve the water and want to sell you one at the first meal, check with guest services to get your free American water (I kid you not)

Thank you so much for the advice, even though I have done 3 cruise's I fill like a child starting school. Well it's booked now and I will just have to man up. I have always wanted to go to the fjord's so I am going to enjoy this cruise no matter what. I will also get my free water.

  6. Hi Everyone

I am a 58 year old woman who as decided to do her first solo cruise. Feeling like most first timers a little scared. The thing is being 10 nights on my own, never traveled by myself before. I know people say your meet people at dinner , but this is not for me ( fussy picky eater ). I am going on MSC Magnificat 14 may 2018 to the fjords. Every one always say that they have to best time , just wondering if it's as much fun as people say.
