  1. We booked a 8D guarantee and wound up with a 2D on the June 6th sailing - 11th deck mid ship.  We found out our cabin assignment right after final payment.  We have friends who are booked on the same sailing and haven't received their cabin assignment yet.  Before I was assigned the cabin, I would go the the Royal Caribbean UK site and do a mock booking to see how many cabins of each category were available...  When I looked in Jan/Feb there were a lot of 2D cabins available - maybe that's why we got assigned one.  Who knows!  But we are happy with the location.

  2. My husband and I always buy our own. We both enjoy having drinks together and we usually end up having that 4-5 a day ( don't judge us! ;) ) that make the drink package worth it. If one person only wants a drink or two a day, buy it! I wouldn't risk the humiliation of being caught. Just my 2 cents!

Also, I have been on cruises with a lot of friends and NONE of them have ever just bought one drink package and shared it... so I guess we all were part of the 5%... Proud of it though. :D

  3. I play slots. Hubby plays craps. We have received free cruise offers in the mail but so far at time we could not use. I've enjoyed reading these posts but must admit ignorance not knowing was CAS and CET stand for. We generally cruise Princess but have never met a casino manager or hostess. What are we doing wrong:confused:

CAS = Casinos At Sea ( Norwegian )

CET = Caeser's Entertainment (Harrahs, Caesers, etc)

As for what you are doing wrong, can't answer that! I just know what the abbreviations were! :)

  4. Call the upsell department. They release all the lower cabins on the Wednesday before sailing. I had one instance on last BA weekender last year. I called CAS to upgrade to the H9 and they wanted $300 pp. I hung up and called the upsell department and they quoted me $180 pp so I took that deal. It wasn't a huge difference but enough to tip the scale in the upsells favor.

I saw this phone number on another thread. Is this the upsell phone number?

    800-625-4309

    Thanks!
