  1. Hello,

We are coming to Moorea with Oceania Marina on Feb. 1st 2019 and would need to know which port is used?

We are about to book an excursion and the company needs to know from which port they will pick us up, anyone who knows if Cooks bay or Paapetoai is used for Oceania?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Hi,

Me and my mother are visiting Moorea for the second time in early February 2019 with Oceania Marina.

Last time we were there I took a lagoon-tour with motu picnic with Hiro´s tours. I found it touristic but ok, what I enjoyed most was the time in the water with the sharks and the stingrays.

This time we are looking to do something similar, but I´ve read some reviews saying that Hiro´s tours are not good anymore - some reviews were saying it was awful and best to avoid.

I would therefore warmly welcome any advice on tour operators in Moorea that you have tried, and of course, please also tell me if there are other operators that are best avoided. :)

  3. Are you saying you just bought insurance to cover the cruise? Through the cruise line?

What about your airfare? What about hotel costs?

It's very important to cover all costs when buying insurance.....from the day you walk out of your home....until you return back home....

And this is why you buy a 3rd party insurance policy that fits your needs

Just call it a day if you can't sell them and don't look back. Lol

I guess it is working differently here in Sweden. I do have all my travels (cruise, air, hotels etc.) covered by my personal insurance without paying anything extra for it, but tickets for shows, theaters and similar are not covered unless they are bought as a package with the rest of the trip.

  4. Thanks for your replies and ideas!

Unfortunately the theater refuses to refund me or exchange the tickets. They were willing to take them back, but told me clearly that even if they do resell them I will not get a refund.

I checked Ebay once again, and I got nothing under tickets and experiences - apart from loads and loads of old tickets and memorabilia.

Since the cruise I was supposed to take was not from New York, I do not have a roll call. Do you have any ideas how I can find roll calls leaving from NY? Is there a way without going through every single thread in the Roll calls category?

    Bets regards,

    Rebecca

  5. Dear cruisers,

I was planning to visit NYC for a couple of days pre-cruise in February, but due to medical reasons I will not be able to travel.

I have 2 tickets for the Broadway musical Jersey Boys on Feb. 24th, that I will not be able to use. Since I do not live in the US and do not have a US postal address nor phone number, I can´t sell them on Stubhub, Craigslist etc.

Is there anyone out there who might have an idea how I could get rid of the tickets without losing all the money I purchased them for?

    Best regards,

    Rebecca

  6. Hello!

I´m booked on a South Pacific cruise (Pacific princess) on Nov. 18, 2014.

I´ve been trying to research the excursions offered by Princess, but they are very few/poor.

Does anyone know if Princess usually adds more excursions later on or during the cruise, than the ones offered online and in the Cruise Personalizer?

We really wish to do some excursions and they seem to be sold out quickly so in case they will not add more I figure we should book ahead before we go.

What would you advice me to do?

    Best regards,

    Rebecca

  7. I´m about to book a 10-day South Pacific cruise in December 2015 on Royal Caribbeans Legend of the Seas.

I would now need all your advice on the cabins, we are going for a balcony-cabin, what should be considered on this ship? Are there any best avoided cabins or any really great ones? What deck is the best according to you?

    Thanks in advance,

    Rebecca

  8. Hi!

I´ve come across a great deal from Royal Caribbean, a 10 days cruise in the Soth pacific in early December next year.

    The itinerary is:

Brisbane - Champagne Bay, Vanuatu - Vila, Vanuatu - Mystery Island, Vanuatu - Noumea, New Caledonia - Lifou, Loyalty Island - Brisbane.

Since I have never been cruising this part of the South Pacific before I would like to ask if it is a good time to go there in December? Would be very happy for your advice.

    Rebecca

  9. Hey!

I got many helpful ideas from you guys around here, so I thought I should ask one more question.

    We´re going on a cruise from/to Papeete on Nov 18 - Nov 28 2014.

We´ll be flying in one day precruise and will probably arrive at Tahiti in the early morning of th 17th, so we´ll need a hotel-stay for one night.

Since we´ll probably be tired after the nightflight and since it is our first time I was considering staying in Papeete, or at least on Tahiti.

When we are coming back from the cruise however, we need to stay at least one night more, since there are no flights back to LAX that will fit into the schedule on the 28th.

I was thinking of maybe taking the ferry upon disembark from the cruise and spend the day, and one night at Moorea instead of one more night in Papeete. Would that be a good choice?

If we´ll do that we´ll have the day of the 28th and the full day of 29th to spend on Moorea before our flight. Or would it still be better to stay on Tahiti instead of the trouble it might take to get to Moorea?

If not, all advice on Moorea hotels are very welcomed. I love snorkelling, so something with a nice beach and manybe even snorelling would be perfect!

    Best regards, Rebecca

  11. Hello!

We´ll have a few days pre-/post-cruise in Papeete, and I would need your recommendations on hotels.

We are going in November 2014, and we do not have a specific budget, but we would of course like as good value for money as possible without paying too much.

When I checked today it also looked like some of the hotels are already fully booked, could that be correct or is it that I am too early and they have not yet released all their rooms?

    All recommendations are welcome!

    Thanks in advance,

    Rebecca

  12. Thanks again!

Is the only option to e-mail them? They do not have a website? Do they demand prepayment (I do not like giving out my cardnumber in a non-secured way).

Also, I read about the Pink sands in Rangiroa, do you (or anyone else) got any opinions on that? Which is the most beautiful place between Pink sands and Blue Lagoon?

  13. Hi!

We´re sailing with Pacific Princess next fall in November, 10 nights roundtrip from Tahiti.

I´ve been checking the excursions for our ports of call on the Princess website, but it seems that the excursions they do offer are very few, and most of them are no longer than 2-3 hours max.

Does anyone have experience from this? Will more excursions be available later or is it best to book on your own with local companies?

  15. Thank you so much!

The Blue Lagoon seems lovely, we will be in Rangiroa from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Do you think that would get us the chance to go there?

Do several operators do tours to Blue Lagoon? Which? :)

Would absolutely love to go there!

  16. We´ll have one day in Moorea during our upcoming cruise and since it is my first time there and I have no clues about the island I would like all your advice!

Any excursions that you can recommend? Places/things that should not be missed etc.? All advice is highly appreciated!

I´m in my early 30´s and will be travelling with my mother in her early 60´s, we are both healthy and reasonably fit, but we do not like something to extreme when it comes to excursions. However we love the sea, and especially snorkelling.

    Thanks!

  17. We´ll have 2 days during our upcoming cruise at Bora Bora and since it is my first time there and I have no clues about the island I would like all your advice!
