The only thing I would add to Coravel’s post is that if you are cruising to Canada, you have to take a supervised test at the cruise terminal organised by FOCL.

On the website go to “our ships”, then “crew” and that prompts you to captains, entertainment managers and hotel managers. Hope that makes sense!

I notice on the Fred.Olsen website that one captain, four hotel managers and two cruise directors ( now called entertainment managers ) seem to have left the Company. Sign of the times? Fewer ships sailing I guess require fewer staff. 

For info, wife and I have been on Boudicca many times over the years and have never had any illness whatsoever. Perhaps just lucky but have always found hygene standards as practised by the crew excellent, by some guests, not so good!
