  1. Daughter and I will be taking an Australia cruise and wonder how it works for the two of us coming from different states.  We are doing NCL's one fly free deal. I will be coming from Orlando and daughter from Dallas.  Will we have to fly separate or will we be joined up at some point for the flight to Australia or will one of us have to go to the other's departure state?

  2. Called to book a cruise and was given what turned out to be a "casino" price deal. How I got this special pricing is a mystery to me as I never use the casino on a cruise.  Have called Carnival several times as I cannot make this cruise date and would like to move to another date. The two times I did manage to speak with an agent, they hear my booking number and say they must transferred me to the Casino department but, nobody ever picks up there.  How do I get through to this casino department?

  3. I have seen 2 guest talent shows and 2 crew talent shows I thought were very good. I enjoyed them.  Never saw any want to be comics.  Some of the so called professional talent they fly in for entertainment, can leave a lot to be desired, especially those jugglers and acrobatic performers.  They seem to just go from one ship to another.

  4. I love stepping out into the fresh morning air on the balcony when I first get up.  I love taking the deepest nap in the privacy of that balcony. The extra money is worth it to us..  I get a kick out of some people's statement of "we don't spend the money on a balcony because we are never in the room anyway".  That's because they want to get out of that closed up space soon and as much as possible.

  5. We have been on lots and lots of cruises on most of the cruise lines and so far, have never had anything taken.  Did lose a pair of sunglasses I left on a buffet table.  Nobody turned them in but, that's why I always take two pairs of glasses.  If it's something that means a lot to me, really expensive, or can't be replaced, be it jewelry or clothes, I don't bring it with me on a cruise.  The only things we place in the safe is money, credit cards, and important papers. Going on a cruise on February with a European line and hope I don't jinx myself.

If your TA looked for 13 cabins on Royal Caribbean's Sensation, she wouldn't find any as Sensation is a Carnival ship  !!!

I would call the TA back, telling her you were able to book the cabins you wanted, and ask why she wasn't able to do the same.  It would be interesting for you to hear her response.  Her loss, not yours.

    Smooth Sailing!   🙂🙂🙂

My time is too precious to be fooling with this person, again.  I feel, if they really wanted the  bookings, they would have called me back to see if there was another option.  I have not heard from that person since so, obviously, it was not important enough.   Who knows.

  7. My spouse and I are paying for this family cruise and I just didn't want to nor knew how to do a group booking but, thankfully, RC is making it easier than I thought.  They informed me that we are getting a group rate as long as the rooms don't fall below 8 in total.  So far, so good.

  8. I usually book all my own cruises directly with the cruise line but decided to turn the responsibility of a family cruise over to a travel agent because I didn't want the responsibility of this big a task. I had used this TA before once for a cruise and had no problem. We wanted 13 balcony cabins on a RC ship.  I picked a date and the ship (Sensation) and let the agent know.     She notified me the next day that all the balconies were gone for our date so, I moved on to another date and another ship.  The next day she called and told me all the balconies on the Explorer were all gone.  Time wise we were at least 16 months until the cruise so, I could not believe that all the balconies could be booked already.  I decided to call RC to see for myself.  Well, I had no problem booking 13 rooms for our party and, they are all on the same side of the ship close to each other.  I can't understand where that TA was coming from.  I am sure she would have made a little money from our booking.  Why do you think she would do such a thing?

  9.  I found out from Costa, we just have to make sure we are on board by 9 PM.  I had wondered how they did the muster drill for late arrivals.  We will be on board well before 9 PM, don't want to miss the ship.  Thanks everybody for your help.

  10. We are booked on the 2/14/20 Costa Luminosa cruise with a departure of 11 PM.  Since we have relatives in Fort Lauderdale, we thought we could drive down there that morning, visit with relatives for most of the day, then, go check in for the cruise.  Is this doable?   Thanks

We also know our mail-woman very well after 35 years of delivery...I wouldn't assume to ask her to sort and decide what's junk... also you never know when a substitute might be needed on a delivery route. As I stated above make arrangements directly with your local post office supervisor. Very easy to do.

As I stated it worked well for us.  And it was his idea as to how to solve the problem.

  12. We have gotten to know our mailman very well and are always good to him at Christmas.  We did a 60 day cruise and discussed the situation of the mail with him.  We gave him 2 30 day hold cards with instructions to throw away magazine and junk.  Worked well for us.

So did we and it was a great trip.  We didn't mind the ship, but I never said it would be my first choice.  Anyone we knew were fine with it as well.  I respect and understand some just cannot deal with Island.  But it isn't terrible.

Cannot be too bad if customers are booking like crazy.

My partner and I both thought it was a bait and switch cruise and the ship was in terrible shape.   We would give Princess another try but just not on the Island. We are all entitled to our own opinion.

Celebrity sails out of Bayonne, NJ not Manhattan.  How did you go past the Statue of Liberty?  It is north of the port and you can see it in the distance.  Bayonne (Cape Liberty) is directly across the harbor from Brooklyn, Manhattan is north of it.

We were on an Eclipse transatlantic that sailed into Manhattan in October of 2017. We docked in Manhattan and my partner and I were invited to the helipad for sail in.  It was our first Celebrity cruise so, don't know how we got the invite.  As I was originally from NYC, it was a beautiful sight to see Lady Liberty again.  We were there for a day and a half.  What fun it was running around in those Manhattan stores again.

  15. We always let our pharmacist know ahead of time of our travels plans so he can have everything ready for the number of weeks we will be cruising. Hubby and I sort out our meds like we always do into those daily/weekly containers for the number of weeks we will be cruising and put them into a mesh travel bag. We each do carry a typed list of meds we are prescribed, just in case of an accident or something. We have a copy of each others meds. My hubby does have a pain pump inserted under the skin that he does notify security about as he cannot go thru the scanner with it. After a pat down, security wipes the pain pump area with some kind of special paper, check it, and then we are off. I guess we have been lucky, so far as, no one has ever given us a hard time regarding our meds:).

  16. Why do people think a person's personality would change just because they are on a cruise. Most people I have met on cruises are friendly and amicable but, others can be nasty, rude, pushy, greedy, dirty, controlling, and totally me first, FU. The last cruise we were on (Celebrity) two guy almost came to blows because one was not walking up the theater stairs fast enough for him, and these were old people:(:(:(:(:(
