Just my two cents worth. I always tip either at the outside bars, or casino, which after they
get to know me, always have a drink really quick, they appreciate it, as any one else would, lets them know they are doing a good job, so if I tip a dollar or two, after 15, if I hit that mark, it is only 15 to 30 dollars extra, but the service was great.

I have to wonder if anyone would notice or care if an ordinary Joe with no status dropped their carryon in their cabin.

my PVP was able to get us a balcony on the Horizon on our April 13 2024 sailing, we booked 10 days before the cruise, so they can sometimes find rooms if you cannot, I was not able to see any when I tried to book.

That looks like a Casino offer?
Do you spend much time in the casino?
about an hour or two on seadays, probably an hour on port days.
-
We keep getting the same offers, did not tell a soul we will not be cruising anymore, but keep getting offers, guess we spend alot in the casino. lol

Seems like every cruise is now a premier, ultra or elite. We usually just book a regular casino offer and every time it’s been one of the hosted events.
hope not on my next cruise, tired of hearing matilda the cash cow, hott hott hott hot seats, and where are all my elite cruisers,

Premiere, get to see Matilda the cow

I loved the Horizon! I am curious about the area right near the port in La Romana. When I was there a few years ago they were doing construction on what looked like it would be a port area very similar to Amber Cove. I am curious if you could give me an update on it.
I am looking forward to your review!
I was on the cruise, just got back Sunday, I did go to the new area they just finished, It is a mini me of Amber cove, except there is no splash zone for kids, other than a small pool they can use. the umbrella's are like amber cove, ask for one, but have to pay for it, restaurant is open, swim up bar in pool is open, so will have many that partake, but not many that will do a bathroom break. Not as many chairs like amber cove, so it will be a rush to get a spot. so recommend be on of the first ones off if you want a chair. clean bathrooms,, It is nice, just small, ask me anythig you want about it, and I will try and answer.

The one perk I wish they would change is the free drink at seaday Brunch, it clogs up Brunch with DImond/Plat all wanting there free drink. It would be alivated by making that free drink be good at any bar/any time.
diamond luncheon with the captain, free drinks all around, seen people order 5 to take back to their rooms, I just ordered 3, one for each hand and one that I drink lol

Carnival's loyalty program is nothing special. People cruise on Carnival because they like the Carnival product. Diamond on Carnival is nothing like Diamond, Diamond + and especially Pinnacle on Royal. If Carnival added another level above Diamond, then they would have to offer upgraded amenities that would go against the business model that everyone is the same and no one is more important than a first timer. Sure, we get benefits, but they aren't eye opening.

Took our grandson for his school spring break in march. We were on the Vista, 6 days, we
went to half moon cay, amber cove, and grand turk, Grandson loved the ship, skyride, rope course, and I Max theater, half moon cay was a beach day, amber cove, did the pool, and
he done the zipline at the port, and pool day at grand turk. My two cents worth.

We sailed on the Vista in March with our 14yr old grandson, he had only a birth certificate, He was able to walk off with us, not wait but maybe 2 or 3 mins.

It did go on sail once, it was 20% off, right after covid.

most people will pay 14.00 dollars for a fufu drink with an umbrella, so water should be fine, in
MHO.

I’m breaking all of my self-imposed rules, anyway. In an effort to sail as cheaply as possible as a solo cruiser in June, I’m letting Carnival pick my inside cabin (never allowed this before and I’ve only sailed inside on 2 prior cruises out of 11); I’m also flying in the DAY OF the cruise instead of the day before. Please pray for me! 😱🛳️
hopefully not an obstructed view inside cabin.
