Thank you so much for this trip report! I am sailing on the Gem this Friday and soooo excited.
Can you tell me if there were any theme nights? We are a group of 17 and most of us would love to dress up for them. I find it odd that NCL doesn’t let you know ahead of time because how can you pack for them if you don’t know what they will be?
Also, how did you find the ocean temperature in Bermuda? We’re also doing St Georges by ferry and then Horseshoe Bay by bus. We plan to walk to some of the other Southern beaches as well and are bringing our snorkel gear.

Are you in an official group all booked together as a group (e.g. NCL has a group number for you), or an unofficial group of 13 folks traveling together. I’m asking because I may be in the latter situation and am wondering if “group dining” will handle such “groups.”
Also, do you have a phone number for group dining?
Thanks and enjoy your cruise.
We are an "unofficial" group. We did book our 4 rooms at the same time with an NCL agent and have linked all our reservations but do not have a group number.
Everything was done through emails to nclspecialevents@ncl.com
Enjoy your cruise as well.

I am also a group of 13. I was instructed by NCL agent to contact group dining and ask for ressies for 14. He said they only do ressies for even numbers. I was easily able to book all the nights and times we wanted in the main dining rooms.

The Gem and Pearl go hand and hand. Both Tobacco and Horseshoe are nice. The caves are cool, Gibbs lighthouse. We tend to skip those since we have been there before. For anyone going for the first time I highly recommend doing a 5 hour private island tour the first day, you really get to see a lot. Our plan this time around in Tobacco Bay the first day, HSB the second and they renting a boat for 6 hours from H20 Sports.... https://www.h2osportsbermuda.com
We have rented from them in the past. Its a great way to get off the beaten path. The are a 7 minute cab ride from the dockyard
This is a bit of a budget trip for us so we are only going to use public transportation or the NCL ferry. Our first 2 days mirror yours....we are bringing snorkel gear with us as we are an hour's drive from Boston so can pack whatever we want 😉
Hope you have a wonderful trip and thanks for the advice.

Bermuda is great and very easy. No need for to use the ship excursions for going to the beach and some other things. We love the Gem, probably our favorite ship
That's great to hear. I was on the Pearl last fall which looks like a sister ship and thought it was wonderful.
We plan to visit the St George's/Tobacco Bay area one day. Do the walk from Horseshoe to the other southern beaches another day and then just stick with Dockyard on our last day.
Any "can't miss" recommendations?

doesn't apply to the current booking. Sad
I'm sad too since I booked in late April! Still happy to be going on a cruise though!

Been there a number of times and never had issues taking off water. Took off a 32 ounce bottle in my back pack. When in June are you goin? My wife and I are on the June 28th sailing
Thanks Laszio! I am on the June 14th sailing. We will be an extended family group of 15 ranging in age from 10-84, so excited!

Is there a way to search within this thread for the ship or room I want?

I'm sailing to Bermuda on the Gem in June and am planning some full days off the ship. Are we allowed to take water off the ship in open containers? I'm hoping to be able to take water bladder backpacks and some refillable Nalgene bottles with us since we'll be doing a lot of hiking.

I would like them as well. I’m especially interested in any special parties such as White Party or 80s Party. As well as “all aboard” times when leaving the ports. Thank you.
-
Could anyone who has done this sailing in 2024 let me know if they had any specialty parties such as 80’s or white party? It seems odd that NCL doesn’t let you know ahead of time so you can pack accordingly. Thanks!

Can it be used toward bar/drink purchases? Wondering if it would be worth getting fir my upcoming trip.
-
Can you tell me what they had for evening shows? Were there any themed parties?

Sailing on the Magic with a balcony room. Are shampoo and a separate conditioner available in the cabins?
-
What do folks do with their cell phones if they are going on an excursion which involves being in the water such as snorkeling? I’m not sure if I want to trust a waterproof pouch.
-
Thanks everyone. I called this week and got the list for my sailing dates.
-
I logged on at midnight on the day I was able to do the final check in and got 11-11:15 time, group 2. I’m hoping to get a Palo brunch reservation so wanted to be among the first on the ship.
my advice is to log on as soon as the window opens and make sure you have all the info for all passengers including the head shots and passport photos readily available. Say you are driving to the port as this will save you some time, you can go back and edit things later if necessary.
Good luck! -
Does anyone know what movies will be playing on the Magic in late July/early August?

They are an explanation of the promo codes that are on your confirmation. If you see something that should be there but is missing you can call your Travel Agent, NCL Personal Cruise Consultant, or the NCL reservations line to discuss with them.
OK - thank you.
-
I don't get it. Are these promo codes that we can ask to have applied to our bookings?
-
Thanks for this great report. I’m on that sailing next August. Did anyone dress the part for the 80’s or 60’s parties at Spinnakers?

To save time, I only scanned just the daily schedules... I'm sure yours will be very different due to different itinerary... but hope it gives you some idea... Enjoy your cruise!!!
I noticed that Spinnaker had an 80’s party one of the nights. Did anyone dress 80’s for this? I would for sure!
