I keep getting email encouraging me to book flights. Unfortunately, the cruises are in the middle of a 6 segment B2B. I really want to book a flight for a very short segment of multi-cruise voyage when I will already have been on the ship for more than 24 days. Yeah, right.

We are on the Emerald Princess out of NYC and got an email encouraging us to book our flights. We live in New Jersey about 90 miles from port. The price on EZAir is about $700 per person out of Philly via Norfolk VA. With tolls and gas it is under $100. These emails are automatically generated regardless of situation.

  2. I assume you could ask to switch and see how it goes, you can definitely bid for an upgrade, if offered, I have a guarantee cabin (now assigned) and I happen to be happy but I could bid if I wanted.

Now... Has anybody seen the new Casual Dining added onto their Travel Summary? I'm not seeing any mention of it on the cruises I have booked with Plus 60.

Haven't seen it on my Travel Summary either, also have Plus 60, however, if you click on the "It Pays to Plus" area it should show up with the word "Purchased" at the bottom. My guess is that it will take time to update the Travel Summary.

  4. It may be time for admin to bring out the locks and bring this thread to a deserved end. It has evolved into perceived personal attacks. elites again griping about perk reductions and a tip debate. Actual information about the changes has been pointed out and discussed ad nauseum. Confused cruisers have a hard time sifting through this thread to find out what the changes actually are and the true facts.

    Hi all,

We were looking mg to book a cruise on a grand class ship after not having sailed with princess for awhile.

We are now concerned about the new dining changes.  We don’t want to pay an extra $80 a day for premier for sailings that are priced in line with other cruise lines at the standard fares.

I’m pretty surprised that princess won’t even have the ability to get a mere slice of pizza for a snack during the day without a charge, with those on the plus package at $60 a day limited to two visits to Alfredo’s for a snack (with only the 3 course option to be available twice to those at this level).

Will there be anywhere except the buffet to grab a snack and/or meal for those at the standard fare (and even for those at plus outside of the 2 per cruise Alfredo’s or vines visits) outside of the 3 meal times for the dining room rooms?  Every cruise line has multiple free snack venues throughout the days and nights, and I’m wondering if there will be even a mere one free snack/food venue aside from the buffet.

    Thank you.

First of all, Grand class ships do not have an Alfredos/Gigis. Even the ships that do have a pizza place on the lido deck where you can

  6. Observations:

    • I have Plus/60 on my September cruise on the Emerald, while my travel summary has not changed, when I bring up Upgrade Packages it shows the list of all the new bells and whistles under Plus and the word purchased at the bottom. I presume it will take a while for the chages to show up on the travel summary.
    • When I selected dining on the website for my cruise, all descriptions of dining options on the Emerald are gone, I guess they are revising the page to reflect the new information. It directs the user to the app. If I were a new cruiser, I would find this very confusing.

Others have reported stashing away trays from room service to use in the buffet.

    And?

The princess web site still call it medallionclass app.

It's seems kind of rude to post a snotty correction, and then be wrong.

Perhaps you can advise us where this official designation is posted?

"The app which is now officially known as the Princess App"

Remember how ever so speedy Princess IT is about updating the website? How long did pictures of the late lamented barrel chairs remained after they were removed?

This is itself misinformation -- when I click Check In from a regular computer on my account/Princess website, it says go check in on the app.

Go back there again look below the app information and in very tiny letters it says "Don't have a compatible device? Try our web version."

The whole medallion thing is awful.  Try once more the week before your cruise.  Then gather up all your docs and check in as always.  It's not worth trying to make it work, but you might have some fun with it once onboard.  About all it does is flash your photo as you approach your cabin.  WOW!!!  It was very exciting.  But you can play around with it, I found it rather entertaining.  For the record, you need to order your medallion no later than 12 days before sailing.  I wouldn't even bother, pick it up when you check in.

    What a load of misinformation1

    1. The Medallion is a separate entity from the app and unlocks the cabin door, make purchases onboard and record you going on and off the ship. Reports are that it works quite well.

    2. The app which is now officially known as the Princess App has been problematic for some, however, you can do check in on the Princess website.
