My husband was an amputee and we travelled with his scooter. I would suggest that if you go to a beach and you have a boot (hope so) that you take some sort of waterproof covering. Go on the beach or whatever and relax. Get pampered by everyone and enjoy. Have a wonderful journey. Enjoy!

80 days to Bliss. Am so ready.

I am an ex smoker. Yeah for me! Will the non smoking casino have same tables, slots etc. I am sure with all new innovations that the "smoker's" casino will have really good ventilation. 80 days. Saving my money for the tables.

92 days to the Bliss TA from Southampton. Super excited. My first solo.
-
Just found this thread and I am glad I did. I am doing my first solo in April on the new Bliss, sailing from Southampton to NYC. I splurged on a mini-suite spa balcony as we have many sea days and everyone in the Bliss group said the ship is the destination. I was told that even though I won't be in the Studios, I would be welcome to the single meet and greets. After reading this thread makes me even more excited about April. Now you all have me thinking about cruises during the holidays. Have a great cruise Monnom.

I am on the maiden voyage from southampton on the Bliss. I'm on deck 15 only a short walk to the observation deck. Renditions look great and I am excited. I have been watching the ship being built and hope it's ready for April 21, 2018. Coffee would be great as well as a bloody mary.

Sailing on the NCL Bliss April 21, 2018. Going solo as a new widow. Excited but a little nervous. Hoping to meet up with other solos in the over 65 age group.

I will be leaving on the Jewel in 2-1/2 weeks to Alaska with my daughter and son-in-law. At first I booked us a mini suite for 3. After hearing from the both of them that they snore (I probably do too) I booked my own mini suite. I then told my daughter, we are not glued at the hips. Semi-solo, I guess. I have booked my first solo cruise on the new Bliss transatlantic on April 21, 2018. I am really excited. I always travelled with my husband and did what he wanted. He passed away in March but I know he would be happy that I am being adventurous. I am looking forward to meeting Coffee Goddess as she is also booked on the Bliss.

I am enjoying your review and photos. I will be on the Jewel for the August 19th sailing. Getting into Seattle on the 18th. I am hoping to be able to get into our hotel room earlier (Hotel Andra) as you did. Looking forward to hearing more of your adventure.:D:D

Thanks Tomberly. Would love to save a little on the cruise.

I got the MC Norwegian card and I recently paid for an Alaskan trip for myself, my daughter and son-in-law. I was able to pay it off right away and have now accumulated 65,000 points. I am booked on the Bliss for the inaugural sail next April, 2018. Is it possible to pay some of my cruise fare with some of those points? Cards and points are new to me. Thanks

I learned on my last Epic cruise that the special dining places book up rapidly. This time I booked as soon as I was able to do it on line. Doing Cagney's, Le Bistro (was wonderful on the Epic) and Moderno. Doing the Alaska cruise on Jewel August 19th. Have a great cruise.

We were booked for the 2nd of February. After reading threads on CC got a gut feeling that something might happen. Booked a backup cruise for the 6th of April. With my wonderful PCC because we booked so far in advance not only did we get $300 OBC but got another $100 for booking the backup---$400. Today by cancelling, officially, the 2/2/15 and keeping the 4/6/15 got the same rate for cabin plus another $100 OBC. Total $500 OBC. Being semi-retired we can somewhat flexible in booking. Gives us a little more time to save. Leave Sunday on the Epic. Got to go and finish packing. Hopefully there will be a thread started for the 6th. Have a great weekend fellow cruisers.:):):)

Thank you, thank you for the wonderful review. We leave in 20 days on the Epic. Can't wait. Loved the picture of the Plunge. Makes me think I can do that. We have signed up for the UDP. We loved Le Bistro on the Sun. Thanks again. Hope next time you don't have to drive to the port.:):)
-
Yeah! Love threads like this. Actually signed up for the UDP when we go on the Epic in 53 days. Love to cook and love to eat. Happy cruising:):)
-
Thanks for sharing. We leave on the Epic in 56 days. Can't wait.

Thanks for sharing. We leave on the Epic in 56 days. I am curious. Did you do the Ice Bar? I love martinis and a new experience. Hope your weather up north is better now. We are spoiled down here in Florida.

Gordito,
Thanks for the suggestion. Have to look around for a horn. As long as he doesn't use it to get me moving faster. Counting the days. Can't wait. Happy New Year everyone.:):)

gordito,
I am hoping that if I come to that type of problem at the elevators, I will be the one saying something. My hubbie (not only amputee, but an aneurism survivor) is quiet and not too verbal. We had the elevator problem on the Sun but to tell the truth most of the fellow travelers on NCl were great, as was the entire staff. I just have to get Hubbie to practice with scooter. Have 2 months to do it. Don't want him running over people. lol glad I found this thread. Stay safe everyone and Happy New Year:):)

Cruising with a handicap person is one of the easiest type of vacations---at least for me. My husband is an amputee in a wheelchair(doesn't use a prosthesis). We also take his scooter (carpeted hallways on the ships are a bummer to push through). Have to book far in advance to guarantee a handicap room. We're sailing on NCl Epic in March (handicap room) and then again in 2015 with a handicap penthouse aft suite (takes that long to save for it). Only problem with the Caribbean is that there are no handicap tours (Cozumel has one). Afraid to book private---don't want to miss the ship. If one sails out of Miami there is a company that rents scooters for $175 for the week. Once on the ship my vacation begins as does hubbies. Can't wait. Happy New Year everyone.:):):)

My husband and I are booked in an aft penthouse suite (disability) for the Feb 2-12, 2015 cruise. That is, if Sixthman Music doesn't charter the whole ship. I did a back up reservation for April. Just reading the comments here make me wish I was on the Pearl now. We do said on the Epic in March and I am counting the days. 86 as of today I think. Merry Christmas everyone and happy cruising.

70 is the new 40. Old is 102.
Thank you Esther. I leave on the Sun 4/2 and I like to think I am the new 40. I booked a zip line in Belize and am excited. ;)
Tips or Hints on the Bliss

We (daughter, 2 grandsons, grand daughter in law and me) will be on the Bliss for the Alaska cruise May 14 and I agree with M4RK that the observation lounge is great. Figuring that it will be chilly out, the lounge will be nice to watch glaciers to go by, have a nice bloody mary or whatever, chat with new found friends etc. The Local is also a great spot to socialize and get good food. Love the Bliss.
