I’m sorry, but I’ve lost track of this thread. We shall be staying in Shinjuku at the Keio Plaza. Where are you looking at travelling to? I’m not sure where in Tokyo the Imperial Hotel is.

Yes you pay the difference plus the 18% service charge/tip
Thanks for the prompt answer. Is the 18% just on the difference, say the $1 instead of $12?

We have the Signature Drinks Package as part of Have It All. If we want drinks more than $11, do we just pay the difference? Just in case I have a "Cosmo" emergency. I'm sure this has been asked before, but can't find an answers, so apologies for that. Thanks

Based on the boat names, I think this should be on the American Cruise Lines board rather than here.
We did the equivalent cruise on the American Duchess in August 2021. Since it was summer, we chose the port side of the boat so we would have sun in the AM and shade in the PM. Side of the boat didn't seem to matter beyond that.

Southbound, you'd want a cabin on the port side. (But you may not be spending as much time on your balcony as you think -- most viewing is best up top, where side doesn't matter.)
Thanks very much. Yes, we will be up on top, but hoping to get a few quiet moments on our verandah as well.

Hi Everybody. We are looking to book this cruise. It's a bucket list holiday for us, coming all the way from Australia. Is there a better side of the boat to be on for views. It looks like the ship will be the American Symphony or Serenade. Are there any cabin recommendations. Thanks for your help.

Hi, we are doing the reverse - starting in Fairbanks, and are flying Qantas - Brisbane-LA-Seattle-Fairbanks. Alaska Airlines from LA on, but all ticketed through Qantas. We chose Qantas because we wanted to fly direct out of Brisbane. I'm not sure if Qantas is still One-World - it is now in the alliance with Emirates.

Thank you all for the info (although now I feel a bit silly, which is probably good preparation for all dumb tourist things I do on our holiday). Ha ha Martincath :D

Hi All, we are staying at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver, post cruise. Will we be able to walk to the hotel with our luggage. We shall have one suitcase and one cabin bag for both my husband and I. Or will there be a porter there? Thanks

Shinjuku is quite a way from Ginza.
