First cruise was on Jan 1979 prior to Super Bowl. Wrong team lost the Super Bowl that year.

I think that since the Holiday is an older ship, it didn't have the stabilizers that modern ships have, and that noticeable list is just how this ship rides the currents and winds (kinda like how an airplane flies at an angle "crabbing into the wind").
We sailed on the Holiday for a quick 4 night Cozumel getaway, and on the way south, the ship listed to the right all the way, and on the way north, the ship listed to the left!
Not the same thing, they control list with ballast (water).
Stabilizers control the roll axis.

What if I replaced wine with booze and recorked it? And put a shrink sleeve around the neck of the bottle?
Steve
Don't want that new xray machine to get me.:D
Why don't you buy a bottle that has a wax seal.
When you get done with your bikini or speedo wax you can wax the top of the bottle back on.:D

I know I'm dating myself, but are they any cruisers out there that ever sailed on the Mardi Gras? We sailed back in 1986 and that seems like centuries ago.
Yes , 1978

it was on the "dresser" and yes it was white it was similar to the ones up by the pool deck... and it was in my room and my parents room.... could maybe just be the room location or deck
Yep lazy room steward. Smoking allowed in those cabins. Should have burned his stolen signs.

They need one that size for Crown XR.

The steaks are supposed to be USDA Prime, so I would have expected them to be at least very good, if not excellent, especially since they are called a steakhouse now...
Yes they are Prime, but that does not make them great.

$30 pp charge includes tip, per Carnival. Must do? No
Good Steak not Great, service is better than MDR. Great for a change of pace.

Which dining room is for anytime dining and which is for the early/late dining? We are confirmed for late, but on our sea days we might want to try anytime. Plus, I would like to attempt (keyword - attempt) to request a table for four for our party. I know this should be done ASAP when boarding. According to deck plans it looks like the Renoir has a lot more 4 seater tables then Monet. So, I am hoping Renoir is not the anytime.
You cant switch back and forth between anytime and assigned.

Does 7208 have a swing open door to balcony or sliding door? Thanks

Can anyone tell me if the forward cabins on the empress have a lot of motion. We booked a guarantee balcony two months ago and were assigned a cabin two days ago-Empress deck-cabin 7208 right on the front. I am a little concerned about wind and motion. If anyone has ever stayed in any of the forward cabins, please let me know how you liked them. My mother and sister are also joining me. My mom is 81 and I don't want her to get sea sick. If we change cabins it will cost an additional $220 and I feel that is too much. I do know that I will not book a guarantee again. I could have picked the cabin at the same price I paid for a quarantee, but was told that a guarantee would possibly get us an upgrade N.....OT. I feel like we received what was left in a lower catagory because we did not pay near what the cabins are going for now. Anyway I would appreciate any info anyone can give me about these forward cabins. Thank you
Barb
Great room, stayed there 4 years ago. Only problem, while in port the door slamming will drive ya nuts. Door to ouside deck slams shut when ship not moving. I noticed very little motion.
