  1. As of last summer, there was also a closed off room next to Gatsby's - the cigar room. My Dad loves Cubans, so we spent a few hours with him and martinis in that little area. Comfy chairs too!

This room is still there and it is a beautiful space to sit and have a cigar or cigarette and relax. Many were enjoying.

  2. Well over 200 on a repo from Boston on the Star. Looks like its going to be more than that this Friday on the repo from Boston on the Dawn! 270 something pages on the roll call thread and over 5000 posts already and we don't leave til Friday...its gonna be BIG! Lots of fun stuff planned and these people are fun!

i'm sure it was tasty...and your bathing suit fit well after, but there is no comparing.

OMG that looks awesome!! I don't usually buy food off the ship but I might have to make an exception this time! I'm pretty sure we are going for rum swizzles so we might as well...I think I should start packing...

  4. My fav cruises are with my DH. We have soooo much fun together!

BUT I have much more vacation time than him and usually cruise 1x per year with my mom, or sister, or friend. I do have alot of fun with them but miss my DH. He loves to cruise and is very gracious and encouraging about me going without him. Missing him makes me appreciate him more...he is the best!

  5. As it gets closer my DH may have some questions. Actually, when I talked to Tami she did say that she could connect me with 2 other riders from MA. I am assuming that you are one of them. Thanks alot!

  6. My son had a great time with O2. We were on the Pride 3/13 and he was 3 months shy of his 15th birthday and they had no problem putting him in O2. Most of his friends at home are older cause of his band, sports and boy scout activities. Matt, the counselor, was awesome and my DS spent quite a bit of time doing activities or breaking off and hanging with his new friends. We established some rules with him in the beginning that we had to know where he was and he could not go anywhere alone so it all worked out great. He could pick and choose what he wanted to do and have dinner and port time with us. He made alot of new friends that he is keeping in contact with.

  7. My DH has over 30 years experience riding motorcycles (with me sitting behind him) and we felt very comfortable on a scooter. We had an awesome time riding all over Bermuda, but we did avoid the traffic in Hamilton. We hate traffic! I do have to say that we chuckled a couple of times going up the hills...big difference powerwise between the scooter and his ride. I went to Bermuda with a friend last year, and we used the bus and ferry system and had a great time. She suggested renting scooters and I said no way...no riding experience no scooter.

I respect others opinions and I think everyone has to decide for themselves.

  8. Thank you so much for the wonderful review and I am looking forward to reading the whole thing. It's funny but normally I would not have clicked on this thread as I haven't really thought about a northern cruise for anytime soon. But now I can't wait to read the rest and see your awesome pictures. My DH and I won't get to Alaska for at least 5 years cause we had agreed we would need at least 2 weeks and can't leave the kids that long. My DS and her DH went last year and her pictures were also amazing! Thanks and I am looking forward to the rest.

  9. There is a story that goes with this picture. At 41 my sister had a major stroke. To save her life they had to do surgery and as a result, take out about 1/3 of her skull....it stayed safe in her belly for over a year (because she had a staph infection post op they did not want to put it back too soon) while she recovered. At her most critical moment in the ICU, I held her hand and told her if she would only open her eyes I would take her anywhere in the world she wanted to go....her eyes flew open (the first of many miracles!), and as soon as she came off the ventilator she requested we go on a cruise. So in late April this year, almost 2 years after her stroke, we boarded the Legend with our mom, our other sister, two nieces and my sisters’ best friend. My sister wanted to swim with the dolphins more than anything else, so I scheduled the Royal Swim. Although VERY skeptical when we arrived, given my sisters physical limitations, the staff agreed to "let her try”. This picture was taken during the foot push.....what you can't see are the six women standing in the water watching her, laughing and crying at the same time. Since this day, my sister has continued to recover, expanding her horizons daily; because this moment in time renewed her confidence and made her realize that ANYTHING is possible!

A wonderful picture and an awesome story...I love this thread!!! Some people look at me like I am crazy when I tell them that my motto is "have fun every day"!

  10. It's impossible to pick a favorite, though I really did try.

Here's a picture of Dunn's River Falls taken before we started climbing:

And this is the same day tubing a beautiful river in Ocho Rios:

And last one. This is truly my REAL all time favorite, but it's not on Carnival. This picture just sums up my cruise experience. We had just returned from a day at Paradise Beach in Cozumel, and the sun was about to set, and that "feeling" took over... you know, that this is the way the world was meant to be and we feel so lucky because God has given us a glimpse of heaven. I realize it won't have meaning to anybody else...but to me it is priceless. :o ry%3D320

Great pictures. I like the last one the best...you guys are too cute!
