Actually, she wasn't working.  Nor was she paying. I took my entire extended family on the cruise and my nanny because she had become like a member of the family.  It was not one of our better cruises and I won't do it again.

Now when we took my husband's office staff on a cruise--that was actually fun.  They were grateful and a fun group.  It may have also had something to do with personalities as well as his office staff are a "fun" group who like to have a good time.  The 20-somethings really had a good time!

If she had any responsibilities with regards to your children or shared a cabin with them she was working. Regardless, she exhibited poor manners.

Argh, the worst!  When someone is treating, you say thank you and everything was wonderful!  It doesn't matter if it is true or not.  I don't mean just cruising, I mean manners in general.

I like treating people to dinner, but if they complain about everything, nothing annoys me more. You can voice your criticisms behind my back, like a polite person.  I'm fine with that lol.

Doesn’t sound like it was a “treat”. She was working but bad manners nonetheless.

Thanks for the pictures, but I would rather have a stop at an island with real people, real culture and real local restaurants and local food...not an Americanized fake town or island.  Years ago, probably close to 40, on an NCL cruise, we stopped at an NCL "island".  It was so boring.  Just another beach. A wasted day.   Maybe coming from SE Florida, growing up and going to the beach at least twice a week or more, all this beach stuff is old news.  Totally understand for those without that history or advantage this option would be attractive, but wouldn't want your cruise dollars spent on a REAL island with real locals, etc.?

Geez, it’s only one stop. Don’t book that itinerary if you don’t like it. I grew up in SE Florida in the 60s and 70s and I don’t have a problem with it.

Honestly, the hand wringing is comical.

Hideaway Beach, the adults-only area of CoCo Cay, will open next year in time for Icon of the Seas and Celebrity's arrivals.   I don't know if they will charge extra for this area, like they do for the Beach Club and Thrill Waterpark, but we will see.

My DH and I live in Central Florida, so the "beach" thing is not for us.  As I previously posted, the Oasis Lagoon and Beach Club were great experiences for which we are "one and done".

We also live in Central Florida and would love to go to Coco Cay. The beach here in Brevard sucks 😆

My parents sailed with us on the Apex a couple of years ago in a standard Inside and it's much smaller than our IV cabin even without accounting for the Veranda portion. The room is more squared shaped than rectangular. Stay with the deluxe inside.

    Thanks!

Fair enough. What kind of information are you looking for? I assume you've seem youtube videos of the room, so you know what to expect. It's basically the IV cabin without the Veranda portion.

Just curious if the deluxe is appreciably better than the regular. It’s only 7days so I’m pretty sure we’ll manage.

Is there a reason you aren't considering an Oceanview? The price differential from the top inside to an oceanview is quite inconsequential. Having a window with natural light would mitigate effects of downgrading from a veranda.

All of the ocean views are on deck three. That’s is a nonstarter. Too noisy

  8. Looking for information on this type of cabin. I’ve tried using the cabin thread but it’s way too clunky to use, at least for me. Considering booking this type of cabin on the Ascent for next spring. We usually get balconies (had a sunset veranda on Apex) but we found that we enjoyed the ship so much that we really didn’t use it very much.

Not sure why you’re interpreting my comments as directed towards personal preferences, but I can only surmise that you did not read the two sentences that I explicitly separated from the rest of his elongate response for clarity. Let me reiterate his comments that I was specifically responding to:

Celebrity still seems to be the same Celebrity it always has been... Still great service, food and ships.”

if you want other examples from what other members of this board have posted, I would add:

    - lobster tails are small (certainly not like the monster served by Oceania a few posts up from mine) and they now charge extra for a second scrawny lobster

    - drink packages have jumped over 20%

There are many other changes as well, but it is patently wrong to say that it’s the same old Celebrity it has always been. Whether they impact your cruise experience or not is a personal matter as you state, but I did not address that at all.

The lobster tail on Reflection last week was not small and to be honest, that picture from Oceania does not look appetizing to ME at all.

Checked the Reflection menu on the app for both end of March this year and our actual cruise next Feb3. Both show prime rib (night 4) and lobster (5). They were missing a few weeks ago.

    Fingers crossed.

They were on there last week

We are on the Reflection on April 2, happy to hear everything was great but how was the entertainment

The entertainment that we enjoyed were at the various venues on the ship, duos and that sort of thing. DJ was good as was the band that played at the pool. We don’t go to the shows in the theater though, not our thing.

  12. Just got off the Reflection this morning. Those of you that predicted the demise of Celebrity will be disappointed. It was a great cruise and to address the things that get beat to death here:

Yes, there was lobster and it was a good size.

Yes, there was prime rib and it was good and NOT thin.

Yes, the filet was on the children’s menu and it was delicious.

Breakfast and lunch in Oceanview was good with PLENTY of choices. We didn’t eat there for dinner but I didn’t hear anyone complain.

I had the premium drink package and everything that I wanted was available.

    Service was excellent as always.

Actually there are three drink packages:   Classic and Premium that are alcohol packages, and Zero Proof, which is non-alcoholic.

The Zero Proof is included as a part of the Premium Beverage Package, but not the Classic.

The coffee's at Cafe Al Bacio are only free with the Zero Proof (excluding the ones with alcohol), or the Premium Beverage Package.

    This is not correct.

    Hello,

I will be able to check in next week.  My passport is good, is it possible that I can check in choose my boarding time and put my passport info in and another time do my husbands and complete it when he receives his renewal of this passport which will come in four week?  Or in order to get the boarding time everything must be completed?  If, this is the case, I can put in his old information and when the new passport comes, I assume I can changed the passport info?

You can choose a boarding time and complete the check in later.

We had dinner in the MDR last night and service was excellent. I would consider the food quality to be fairly standard banquet fare,”

Banquet fare reminds me of “Medieval Times”.  Modern Luxury indeed.  I hope X is reading some of these posts.

I'm sure that Regent awaits your deposit with glee 🙃

I think we'll have more, but even so it's not a waste for me. I've been before and know just where I want to go and what I want to see again. I didn't book shore excursions at the other ports because nothing really caught my eye, and this trip is my reward for surviving a hellish semester. I agree that I'd love to have more time at Disney, but I'm thrilled to get to go at all.

That's Disney Marathon Weekend. The parks will be packed and some roads will be closed. Just an FYI
