At the present time the travel warning for Jamaica is only a level 2, the same as Mexico. Both Honduras and Guatemala have even higher level 3 warnings but aren't getting the publicity that Jamaica is. I have traveled in both Honduras and Guatemala recently on excursions with no worries.
Exactly. We were in Cozumel over Labor Day and was a very high travel warning. We did our excursion and was just fine. Just need to use common sense while being abroad, no matter where it is.

life happens here and abroad. I am trying to say the resort is secure and have done my research and our group is fine with going on excursion. Someone got shot while pumping gas here. It happens. Security is high yes, and we will check prior to cruising.

Just because you stayed there before and felt safe doesn’t mean it is now. They issued that state of emergency for good reason. There wasn’t a state of emergency last time you travelled I’m sure.
Like the other posted mentioned I would be concerned about the travel to the resort and back.
Honestly if my cruise was stopping there I wouldn’t get off the ship. It’s not worth the risk to the safety of my family or myself. You can’t judge the safety now based on past experiences.

That's your right NOT to get off ship. We are not putting our family at risk if we do checking prior to going.

I have spoken with Carnival and place to where we are going. The concern is not where the resort or any other excursions are. We were in Cozumel last year during a similar safety concerns but it didn't effect us going to Nachi and enjoying Cozumel.
Everyone has an opinion and will do as they feel safe. We aren't cancelling our excursion and have a large group going. If our bus was to be hijacked, then it is what it is.

We have an excursion planned to Rose Hall with resort for a day for our upcoming cruise. I'm going to see about getting a refund for our deposit and just stay on the ship that day.
I have stayed at this resort before for an excursion and it is very safe. I called them and yes you can get a refund but they assured us that the issue is not in that area. We have a group going and feel comfortable about it.

It is a couch that they use for the 3rd bed, not a pull down. There was a lounge chair and the room steward brought us another lounger too. Enjoy.
They said was an Pullman on top because has room for 4 if needed...
thanks for the info...and yes I'm asking for a lounger :)
-
Booked it today......was told no lounge chairs for aft just suites?? anyway said I can ask......sure hope we like it.....think the pull down bed will be cool for our daughter.....60ft of balcony can't go wrong...even if it's width vs length...
-
Thank you for replying. I called and they said only had 2 chairs and table. Did you ask for lounge chair? Or more chairs?

We are thinking of changing rooms for cost. Currently have OS on Empress deck. Anyone been in these rooms? Or in an AFT room? pros and cons?
Or balcony on verandah vs vista?
thanks.

I sailed the dream on my daughter spring break. While there was some lines nothing like you had. We eat in mdr every night and had anytime dinning. Got there 20 min before it open we're always first ones in line. We loved the dream.
We also love the Dream......we went in 2010 when she was in Port Canerval and I can say that we came close to cancelling due to reviews. But even though she is huge, the lines, and everything else was worth it. She's beautiful and we look forward to our Feb 7,2016 cruise on her.

On our own...
Love your review.....Nachi is the BEST for the money.....wonder why water was so bad? We went back in Dec 2011 and was clear.
Thanks for taking time for this wonderful review with awesome pics :)

Love the review...going Feb 7,2016 :)

Cozumel – Every time we go to Cozumel, we go to Nachi Cocum and this trip was no different. As always, it was quiet, serene, not crowded and the drinks and food was great and the service was excellent. I would move there if I could.
This is OUR favorite excursion too!! We have done it twice so far. First time we did parasailing and it was awesome.....This time our DD(9) is going, so thinking of maybe dolphin excursion. Any recommendations?

We are doing this same one in Feb.....looking forward to more reviews.

Love your review and the pictures!!!
We are doing the same on the Dream Feb 7,2016!!!!
We did the same Jamaica excursion 2010 but they were in the process of remodeling and so didn't have lazy river or few other things. Just one slide. I'm almost positive it's the same place.....swim up bar was awesome!!
I did paddle boat with my DD who was 5 at the time. I let my DH chill at the swim bar and enjoy. Mistake!! I had the hardest time maneuvering the paddle boat and was pretty torn up......but all in all, was a blast.....

It's been 5 years since sailing on the Dream. They didn't offer the Cheers program then.
Would you say it's worth the price per day per person? There are two adults in room. I do enjoy my morning mimosa's and drinks as does my husband.
Average cost of drinks if purchased?
Thanks for the help......
We cruise in 255 days!!!

We had previously cruised on CCL Dream and they opened up the partition and we placed a chair there to prompt it open but was wonderful to have the added space and share a large balcony with friends...
We went on Pearl and had connecting balcony rooms again for this reason and they said NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! called down to ask again...NO!!!! safety...they will not open.......we were very disappointed but still had a blast and just peaked around the corners :D

As you'll notice in the photo above, you arrive in the big bowl, and the momentum is certainly enough to take you in, at least, two full circles before you need to navigate your way to the entrance of that final slide drop for the exit. Easy . . . or perhaps not.
While holding carefully on my trusty camera with one hand (yes, once again capturing more video memories) I use the other hand to help propel myself to the exit slide opening. Not quite getting the desired positioning, I shift my body weight that direction to help 'nudge' it, and . . .
ooops . . . ouch . . . oh, crap . . . not good . . . help . . .
My inner tube stays in the big bowl, and I travel, head-first, through the exit. Yep, that experience is on video as well.
With camera held above the water line, I finish the slide experience to see Tom with a 'Wow' look on his face, and the next kid in line with a "Dude, where's your tube?" look.
Tube arrive shortly, and all was good. All in all it was a really fun slide, and I definitely enjoyed all three. :D
I was able to repeat all on the last sea day before that had to shut 'em down due to realy high winds.
Don, I'm only like on page 11? I think but had to stop here and quote on this one...I laffed so hard my little girl ran in here asking what was it? hahaha We are booked Nov 16,2013:eek: so far away but this review you have put together has made me so anxious and excited and happy we had decided to book on Epic. WE did Pearl Dec 2010 and loved it...previous CCL cruisers.....ok back to my reading!!!!!
State of emergency in Montego Bay

This why so many don't even bother posting here. CC are some of the snottiest and rudest people ever.
There are a few nice ones but to make a come back like this? Actually it is what it is. Life happens here or anywhere. People are shot daily. Guess I'm going back to ignoring this board like all of my cruise friends.
