  1. Hi NickyKat,

You haven't said whether your cruise is leaving from White Bay or The Rocks (Circular Quay) cruise terminal but if you are leaving from The Rocks I found the best place to park is at the Sydney Opera House.

Wilsns parking offer a 'cruise deal' that is $20 a day (for between 7 & 14 days).

    https://www.wilsonparking.com.au/park/2139_Sydney-Opera-House-Car-Park_2A-Macquarie-St-Sydney

You can prebook & prepay for your car spot & use your credit card for entry & exit from the car park.

The access from the car park to the terminal in The Rocks is good with just a short walk required.

We used this car park for the first time for our cruise earlier this month & found it a really good option for cruise parking. I will definatly be using it again.

Sorry I cant comment on parking for the White Bay Terminal as I have never cruised from there.

    Cheers

  2. Yet boarding for first time on Voyager of the Sea's and wondering is there any decent power adapters i could use to charge 3 things my action camera, my tablet and also my iphone/backup battery case ?

    Hi,

If they are USB you could get something like this:

    https://www.korjo.com/Product-Range/Adaptors-%281%29/USB-x4-Power-Hub-%28USB04%29.aspx

I have this one (bought it at Strandbags) & it work great comes with 4 different international plugs so its great for traveling. One of them is the AU one so it can be used in Australia too (I use mine all the time - even when at home).

There is also a similar product available from Kogan:

http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/4-port-usb-rapid-travel-charger/ but I have not tried this one.

Voyager has both US & EURO power sockets in the cabins so if you want you could just get an adapter which is suitable for these outlets & plug in your normal chargers but this will only allow you to charge 1 at a time unless you get more than 1 adapter.

    Cheers

  3. Does anybody know if there is a behind the scenes ship tour available on the Radiance of the Seas? There was a tour available on the Carnival Spirit when we sailed last year but it sold out quickly once on board. I was hoping that The Radiance may have a similar behind the scenes tour?

Radiance certainly had it last January when we did it. You should be able to pre-book it through the cruise planner section of your booking. It is called the All Access Tour & should be listed under the On-board Activities tab. We are currently booked on the Rhapsody this December & have already booked our tour.

  4. Thank you. I would love to book it online. What option would I find it under?

Firstly you need to log into my cruses on the RCCL web site and add your current reservation (if you have not already done this). Then go to the booking that you want to book the tour for & then go to the cruise planner (click on cruise planner in the header then click on start). It is found in the 'on-board activities' section. It is AU$171.00 per person & you can book for the 14th or the 16th December. As Jasp0401 said, we did it on the Radiance earlier this year & it was great. We both thought it was well worth the money.

  5. Yes, I agree! Whenever I've been patched through to the US when the local office is busy, I've always spoken to someone who is very helpful! Those in the local office seem to know LESS about their product than we passengers do! :(

As expected, I called RCCL yesterday to add a 2nd cabin to my booking and, as it was a public holiday in NSW, my call went through to the US. I was able to apply the relevant saving certificate to both bookings... a saving of $225 on each cabin.

This just goes to show that the operators in the US have more of an idea about their product than the AU operators.

  6. Was this your travel agent or the local RCI office that you called? It's just typical of the service (?) that we receive "down under" IMHO.

    Hi Gae,

It was the RCI office 1800 number. Sometimes when you call it you get an American & sometimes it is the Sydney office. I always find the information is better if your call is put through to America.

  7. Good to see so many people taking advantage of the savings.

I called to apply the certificate to our Nov 14 Radiance cruise & the lady on the phone didn't even know what a savings certificate was...! When I told her they were available through the C&A section of the website she told me to email C&A and ask about it.

I will call back in a week or so and hopefully talk to someone who knows about them. I have used them before so I know they can be applied over the phone.

  8. We were on Voyager back in January and children of all ages were welcome in the Concierge Club at all times. Our daughter is 14 but there were many children younger than her in there. They were served soft drinks.

I dont know about the PPV movies but we did borrow DVD's from the Concierge.

They changed concierges after our cruise so maybe the new one is not aware of the rules. I agree with you that you should check it out with guest relations. There are some chairs just outside the lounge maybe you can sit there. When we were on board they allowed the drinks to be taken out there.

My opinion is (and I know others have other opinions on this but) you have paid for your son to be in a suite & therefore he is able to take advantage of all the benefits and I am sure you want to share this time together.

    Enjoy your cruise
