  1. i am asking this because i saw online that mgm gold equals diamond member on royal carribean. i called royal carribean and the girl wasnt sure but she thought you could become a gold member with mgm if you are a diamond or higher on royal carribean. im thinking it should be the other way around where if your a gold member at mgm then you can get the diamond perks at royal carribean.  does anyone know for sure?  thank you

  2. i booked 2 cruises for January and april for 2018 for my wife and i. i booked these back 4 months ago and got travel insurance for both. recently my 85 year old mother was diagnosed with moderate dementia. she is still living in her house alone and im her only son. i am now going there all the time to be sure she takes her pills among other things to take care of her. she went for extensive tests to get this diagnosis. is this a reason to be able to cancel a cruise. thank you

  3. I originally was told I had a degerative disk in back because of my symptoms and an x ray. this was 25 years ago. my wife and I have been on like 25 cruises and like 30-40 trips to vegas over the years. this has never stopped me but this latest episode 6 weeks ago while on the harmony of the seas during the hurricane was a killer. I was lax on my exercises and strained my back on the 6th day by standing in one spot for over an hour trying to reach southwest to change our flights. the next day my back spasmed out real bad. the beds were real low and to try and get out of bed each of the next 8 days was not fun. sitting was also killing me. it was a nightmare. flying home was real tough. I really inflamed my back. im now doing exercises among other things to get back to where I was but its been a slow process. If im still like this in January it would be no fun going on a cruise

  4. degenerative disk desease did show up on xrays. he showed me where the space between the disks was smaller than the other ones. herniated or bulging disks cant be seen with an xray. as far as asking my back doctor now to do a letter im thinking about when would he date it. im not sure if he would agree to date it for January. if he dates it now the travel insurance might not go with that.

  5. I purchased insurance 4 months ago when I booked our princess cruise in January. recently I had a real bad episode with my back with spasms etc. I went to the back doctor and was told that its going to take a couple of months to heal due to the 2 degenerative disks that showed up on the xray. I had called the travel company and asked if I was covered if I cant make it and they said yes and I would need a letter from the doctor. I just found out that my doctor is retiring in December so if im not better for our cruise at the end of January can I have my primary doctor write a letter. thank you

  6. I have lower back problems with degenerative disk disease for like 20 years. about 10 years ago I bought a new bed because the old bed was sinking where your lower back is and I would get up and my back would go out on me. I bought one of those all foam beds and returned it. I just didn't like it. then I decided to buy a harder type bed. that's the bed I have had for the past 10 years. I didn't really end up liking it but didn't want to return another bed. I had to put some different type thick toppers on it to make it comfortable because i couldn't handle it the way it was. recently my back is starting to bother me more when getting out of bed. im thinking of buying one of these new luxury princess beds. im trying to get some feedback on these beds. thank you

  7. my wife are going on harmony and we have like 400 in credit. im considering getting the alchohol drink package before leaving at the 20% discount so after gratuities we will still have a few hundred left. we have used credit like this on some other cruise lines. I think we just went to the cage and had them put it on our card or they just put it on our bill and used the credit that way. how does it work on royal Caribbean? thank you

  8. ive read where when you get your card when you get on the ship that it will be on your card this soda package. I don't drink soda so in wondering if I could get something else in its place or some kind of credit. I realize its free so I doubt that anything else could be offered but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask you guys. I guess if you purchase this package it 60.00 a week. thank you

  9. my wife and I have only been on celebrity and princess in recent years. we have been going on the silhouette and the regal which are newer ships. we find both of these ships to be very classy. I know celebrity recently changed their 2 formal nights to chic nights but we still found most people dressing up on these nights. like many others we choose to dress to the nines. on most all other nights we dress nice also. the wife wears a skirt or dress and I wear dress pants and nice shirt and sometimes a jacket when going to specialty restaurants. on both of these ships we were not alone. we saw many people each night dressed like us. when you do carnival or Norwegian you would definetly be in the minority dressing like this. that is why we like these classy ships.

  10. some of the posts on here have confused me. I booked a cruise on the regal for my wife and i for January 2018 a month ago which had some promotions but no drink package. i paid 1078 each before tax. the sip and sail special has free drinks but is 1518. are you guys saying that if i call my travel agent they will give us the free drink package and keep the 1078 original price with its other promotions.
