We will be cruising the West Caribbean in February 2019 and want to book a tour of Mayan ruins. Which one is the best to choose?

We took a Celebrity excursion on a plane to Chichen Itza, absolutely amazing!  Included a private tour guide, great Mexican buffet at the hotel restaurant on the grounds and it was so nice to be able to fly over the entire ruins before landing.  The plane was new and the pilot very experienced.  It was costly, but so very worth it.  We had been to Tulum many years ago, but enjoyed this so much more.

  2. 1 oz simple syrup

    2 oz rum

    1 oz fresh lime juice

    8 mint leaves

1 to 2 oz club soda etc.

Muddle the mint leaves but not too much as you want the hint of mint and not being bitter. Basically like slapping them

Also suggested to squeeze the limes instead of muddling as you don’t want the bitterness from the peel.

Add mint leaf for garnish. Straw long enough to sip from while and getting your nose close to the rim to smell the garnish.

Mojito are easy to make and basically make to taste. More sweetener, less lime and etc. Also try honey, agave, maple syrup and etc for sweetners. Take a taste and adjust by addding more rum, mixer, or sweetener.

I experiment using different flavors of vodka like Limon, or flavored Vodkas.

Also try different flavored sparkling water such as Izzy lime, orange and etc.

Orange or citrus Mojito uses a little orange along with the lime.

    Have fun experimenting and

    Thanks so much!!! 🍸🍷🍸🍷🍸🍷👍

  3. I am sure that they are only in the premium pack and most likely only at th martini bar.

I did a mixology class that was held in the World Class Bar. It was offered at 1/2 price towards the end of the cruise. It was a great deal at 1/2 price but would have been worth full price.

The BT made 4 drinks and were were able to write down the recipes. The drinks were espresso martini, Hemingway Daiquiri, Mojito, and grapefruit Cosmo The 4 drinks were full size. Needless to say if you drank all of them you wouldn’t be able to drive.

    The espresso martini

    1/4 oz simple syrup

    1/2 oz Kahlua

    1 oz espresso

    1 1/2 oz vodka

Easy to make at home. He suggested if you don’t have a way to make espresso to purchase a few shots from a coffee shop.

    Drink up 🍺🍻🍷🍸🍹

    Hi,

Would you, please, share the Mojito recipe? Love those! Thanks!!

  4. Yes, we were the only ones in St. Maarten today which was strange! We're not used to that! We did get off the ship and walk to the beach. For those who don't know there is a very nice beach about a 15 minute walk away. You can also take a water taxi too.

We had a couple drinks on board and ate lunch in Ocean View. The lunch buffet today was suppose to be American BBQ but it wasn't the case. What I had was good though. I really like the Indian food on board.

Around 12:20/12:30 we left the ship and spent 3 hours at the beach. If you go to this beach and you want some chairs walk only a little way down and look for blue umbrellas and yellow chair cushions. As for George. He was terribly nice and we got two chairs and umbrellas for $15 total and a bucket of 5 beers for $10. He offered to get us food or anything else we need. He seemed to keep good watch on the area so we felt comfortable going in the water and leaving our bag. Though we still secured it as well as we could.

The water was perfectly warm. Like bath water. As we were the only ship in port the beach was not crowded at all.

Thanks for your review! What is the name of this beach as we will be there in March on the same ship? 🙂

  5. HI DW and I are on Reflection 3-10 December. Flight back to UK does not leave till 18:00. Any suggestion on how we can spend time including anywhere we can store luggage safety?

    Thanks

Our pre cruise hotel, Hampton Inn, always lets us return there. They store our luggage, we spend time by their pool and then take their shuttle to the airport later that day. We do let them know we will be back prior to checking out to leave on our cruise.

  6. We were just on Reflection in February on slant hump, facing forward, cabin 9266. The balcony was huge, with both shade and sun. It was so convenient being close to the elevators, but so quiet. We would definitely book it again.
