FYI--On one of the roll calls for a cruise next year, there has been a big discussion about "global entry." This is a program [it costs $100 to apply--but lasts for 5 years] that makes you a trusted traveler. There are special "short" lines at airports and [some] cruise terminals for this. You apply on line and then go for an interview.
If you travel very much this could be worthwhile for you. It gives you a TSA pre-check at airports, too.
I do not have this [so can not give a personal experience]--but, those on our roll call swear by this. DH and I are thinking of applying.
We have global entry (nexus) and we went from picking up our luggage straight to customs (one family was ahead of us). Well worth it. The wait to hop in the airport shuttle was much longer than the customs line.
(This was at port Everglades)

My husband and I were on the sailing just before yours and agreed, the Indian food was excellent!

This might not sound right but it works. If you can get some alcohol wipes open one up when you start to feel like your going to get sick. Take it and smell it with a few good breaths. It will reset the receptors in the brain and you won't get sick.

I carried on two cases of water in my see through beach bag last week on oasis.
The porters wouldn't accept it tho and advised me" it's better to carry it on"

You guys sound like my husband and I. We just returned from a 7 night cruise on the oasis of the seas. We opted for the 10 drink for $79 punchcard which was available on the 2nd? 3rd? Day..
Water, unsweetened tea and lemonades are available throughout the ship.
Remember, You can also bring two bottles of wine per stateroom.

When you said Port Everglades, do you mean FLL airport or at the port when we check in with Royal? This gonna be my first cruise after getting Nexus.
Both. Was able to "expedite" my departure from Port Everglades via global entry line and also at FLL airport.

Used nexus at Port Everglades and at YYZ. Made what would've been at least a 45-60min wait down to. ZERO.

Just got the weirdest call.
Rccl called to remind me to do my online checkin and print the sail pass for my upcoming aug 20th cruise. I did my online checkin and printed my sail pass weeks ago..
Anybody else get this call?
Courtesy call I guess?

Uber has a car seat option with XL vehicles. I'd check into that before taking a Royal transfer from PE to FLL. We've used Uber in Fort Lauderdale and received outstanding service. The XL will run you about the same as a cab and there may actually be free ride Groupons for signing up.
Great advice. Uber XL the same as uber? (As in the uber app? Approx how will uber XL from pe to fall cost?) our flight is at 2:50p hoping we can be on standby for an earlier flight

Pre booking online everyone is charged as an adult. You must request the adjustment( given as obc) once on board. Or you just wait until you board to make reservations
I wasn't charged for my daughter when I booked ... Could it be because of her age? (She's under 2yrs) or could it be because it was the character breakfast?

Thanks everyone! I'll have my 20month daughter with me and we'll need a car seat if we go the cab route, so no can do.
(For those wondering how we'll get to port, we'll be arriving the day before and opted to rent a car w a car seat... Renting a car for the return is too much of a hassle time wise ESP with a toddler)

Yes, oh my gosh, please cancel that ship's transfer and take a cab - much less expensive and very little hassle. For the transfer, you will have to wait for the bus to fill up. As stated, the taxi is on the meter and the two points are very close - absolutely no more than $15.00 or so.
I'll have a 20mo with me and we won't be bringing a car seat. No other option but to take a bus.

I was on the same sailing! I can't remember whether it was Tuesday or Wednesday night but our server in Schooner did offer us the $79 card for 10 drinks that could be shared!
Jill
Was the drink card something "hidden" and only those "in the know" knew to ask about the card? Or was it advertised everywhere?
Would love to buy a couple for our trip. We're drinkers but not enough to buy a package and get my money's worth.

Formal nights were sunday and Thursday night. They offered lobster tails on Thursday night. Check the board threads and you will see the new menu's for oasis. They will email you with a discount offer on speciality restaurants and drink packages. 20% on drink package a couple weeks before your departure.
Thank you!

OBC automatically split with cabinmate or goes to first person on reservation?
in Royal Caribbean International

Ours were split evenly between the first and second person booked
