  1. Normally we drive to our port and wait until 1:00 - 1:30 to check so we don't have to lug around our carry on stuff !!  This time we are flying in the day before and have to check out of hotel by 11:00 so we will get an earlier check in time.  Hopefully turning Platinum this time, we can drop stuff off in our room then leave and let them finish their work.

  2. We have always picked 1:00-1:30 times since rooms are ready and you can drop off your stuff. We will be platinum this trip but with a Journeys cruise I read there is no benefit.  We will have to be out of hotel by 11:00 so we will pick an earlier time if possible. Don't want to sit in the terminal and wait like we did once several years ago. Waited for probably 45 minutes to an hour before we got on the ship and still had to lug around carry on stuff!!  Happy Cruising everyone

  3. Our last three or four cruises we’ve taken have been with a free room. You actually pay $200 for the room and then get $200 onboard credit plus we had free drinks in the casino. We’ve got one coming up in December that is a a 14 day that we got with a $100 per person for an inside cabin. I’m sure soon they will stop doing those soon since  they have gotten back to full capacity.😎

  4. We stayed at Fort Conde last time in Mobile. You can leave your car with them and it is less than a 5 minute walk to the terminal. Drop off luggage at the terminal, go park at hotel and walk back over.  I think we paid in the $150 rang and I thought that was great considering we did not have to pay for parking at the port. Fort Conde is a beautiful B&B with nice rooms, a courtyard and a bistro across the street for dining.  Have Fun!!

  5. We just cruised out of Mobile in September. We stayed at Fort Conde Inn and loved it. The room cost a little more than I usually pay but they offered free parking for the entire 10 days we were gone.  I think we paid around $140 but free parking was the game changer. Only about a 4-5 minute walk to the port and we could see the ship from the balcony. You can drop off luggage after 10am then go park or site see until check in time.

@2Shoes2Go- the letter didn't mention how long the Ecstasy would be there...so your September cruise on the Sensation may still be planned.  It stated that they plan on resuming cruises from Mobile in March and that, for now, the Ecstasy would be sailing the Sensation's itineraries...which included our June 25th cruise.

We got this same letter and our cruise is a 10 Day in September. As long as I'm on a ship, I don't really care which one.

My personal favorite is the Malaga Inn.  It's practically worth the trip to Mobile all by itself.  The oldest part was built during the War Between the States, so it literally reeks of history.  (There are modern conveniences such as an elevator, if that's of concern.)  The inn is located a short Uber ride from the port and the parking rates aren't bad at all ($7 per day).  There are different room rates depending on the room.  This place is a touch on the expensive side, but you can't beat the experience or the location.  Like I said, the Malaga Inn almost is worth a trip to Mobile on its own.

A lot of the places I normally would suggest have removed the park 'n' cruise option from their web sites (hopefully temporarily).  That list includes the Admiral Inn (I'm a sucker for art decco, so this one was a special treat the one time I stayed there).  They used to have a working arrangement with the county garage next door, but I don't remember the details and those details may not matter any more.  If the Admiral does resurrect its cruise package, particulars can be had here:

The Microtel in Saraland has been recommended here many times in the past (and once again by another poster in this thread).  I've never been tempted myself.  It's quite a ways out and the listed price ($185.99 plus tax) is a little more than I want to pay.   Other people have had very nice things to say about it, though.  It's probably worth at least a look.

I've got a trip out of Mobile scheduled for April.  I'm booked the the Wingate, which is out towards the airport (but still closer to the cruise terminal, I think, than Saraland).  I haven't stayed there before, but it looks OK on paper (or rather, a web page) and the price ($129 plus tax) seemed right.  We shall see.

Most of the hotels in Mobile no longer offer any type of Park & Cruise. I've called several and nothing available. I think we have decided on the https://malagainn.com/ since they do still offer parking at a reasonable rate. The facility looks so quaint & southern, can't wait for September to get here.

Someone posted a topic about low cruise prices and it got moved, I followed it but it lost its' Carnival lean.  So I started this thread.  I always wanted to do a Panama Canal cruise, but most of them only go part way through the canal, into the turnaround bay, and then back again.  East coast partial-transit cruises don't even get to see Panama City.  So while looking at the great prices, I just saw this:

I realize with a cruise this long and a 2:1 sea day : port day ratio I'm going to lose ~$1,000 - $2,000 in the casino, but can anyone tell me why this is not a STEAL?

My husband got this same offer- See ya on the ship !!!

I signed up for my first cabin gift exchange 🙂.  What were some of your favorite gifts that you have received in a cabin gift exchange.

We did one on our August cruise. It was so much fun finding "special Deliveries" in your mail box.  A lady from Hawaii left macadamia nuts, surf board key chain. Others were anything from fuzzy socks to candies in a little suitcase, writing pen with Whale Tail attached.  Have fun with it !!
