  1. Actually, you are incorrect . . . because I finally did receive a complete refund yesterday (and had never accepted an FCC) . . . because 3 different agents "misinformed" (aka lied) to me. The company did stand behind its employee agents and corrected their (recorded) mistakes in the end.  How's that for dessert ???

  2. Eureka !!!  They finally "saw the light."  I finally convinced them of my issue . . . and  I got a person who listened and understood the numbers and the reasons and the stark mis-information that I was given by their agents (after they listened to their recorded phone discussions with me.)  This has been months . . . maybe to be expected due to COVID . . . but the real clincher is that I had been lied to . . . and Celebrity has now stood up and took responsibility and corrected their mistakes !  Bravo, anyway !   ?? Maybe CruiseCritic posting made a difference !?!?

  3. Brief:  We have been "misinformed" (frankly, lied to) by two Celebrity agents on two different phone calls (3Aug and 17Sept), who confirmed full refunds . . . only to receive an email of future cruise credit in lieu of refund this week !   We are 70s and may not be able to cruise again.  Celebrity isn't standing by its agents promises (which included discussion of a very specific amount).  Since cancellation, we get small refunds that I cannot correlate with anything on their invoice.  And they are not even acknowledging two missing shore excursion refunds which are obvious, basic items.

If they are crashing and burning because of COVID, they should admit it . . . they should not lie to me on the phone.

I will climb the corporate hierarchy and pursue the credit card angle as recommended above.  Thanks to all of above discussion. Just and old fashioned guy.

  4. Greetings and sorry if there is already a thread for this somewhere . . .

What are my options if I have been misinformed (frankly, lied to) by two different cruise line agents on two different dates = each confirming a full refund (except air) on phone messages that were recorded ?  Six weeks later, the line reneges (I will withhold the cruise line name . . . for now . . . while I climb their corporate hierarchy).  Doubt legal recourse worthwhile; cruise lines seem so legally "protected."  Contact Federal Maritime with complaint ?  Just give up and have a bourbon and soda ????    We were given a future cruise credit . . . but we are 70 and its is problematic if our health will allow our cruising by the time COVID is over.  Thanks in advance.
