  1. Two evenings in a row I was served an eggplant dish ( I learned I don’t care for eggplant :)) in the dining room. I was served a chocolate brownie for dessert with a strawberry topping that was delicious one evening and a coconut mango sorbet the next evening.

The next evening we ate at Samba grill. What a treat! The salad bar was excellent and the servers didn’t parade around the meat trays. I had so many grilled vegetables and potatoes. Yum!

We ate at Rita’s cantina quite a few times. The refried beans along with fajita vegetables are vegan as is the guacamole, chips and salsa. Their margaritas are really tasty!

I had a veggie burger and fries at Johnny rockets the last evening.

Breakfast daily was oatmeal and fruit in Windjammer. Sometimes fried potatoes were a splurge. I also found a veggie Miso soup with tiny cubes of tofu in the solarium for breakfast. So good!

I had salad most days for lunch on the ship, there’s plenty of options in WJ, including Indian food. The chefs at each stand were very knowledgeable and eager to please.

The shows and service was top notch everywhere on the ship. We loved the Allure!

I am happy to answer other questions anyone may have! I got so busy with other things and totally forgot to finish this!

    Happy sailing!

  2. We’ve seen both Oatmeal and Grits onboard. Depends on the ship if they have one or both available each morning. We avoid it because it’s too salty for us.

Thank you. I may make my own packets for our trip and add hot water to them. Add fresh fruit and I’m good to go. Planning always = success for me with this stuff. Who wants to worry about food :)?

  3. So we just walked through WJ and it is pasta night. They had bags of Barilla pasta out. I personally am okay with eating this brand. The ingredients state wheat semolina flour and water. It is processed on equipment that may process egg products, but this pasta does not contain it. I'm okay with that and will check to see if the sauce has any wine or other offending ingredients. Some things I have to bend about and this is one for me.

  4. @happy trailer I specifically asked about the pasta and he told me no egg, just wheat and water because I had seen that in the past. I can only hope he's being truthful with me. He was very convincing....

We walked to the entrance of WJ and it was lined out of the door, I settled for a fresh squeezed juice. Vitality also will fix a Soy milk and frozen whole fruit smoothie. That was perfect after my run today!

  5. We are on the current sailing of the Allure and I haven't done this before, but I haven't found much recent information about this and I'm giving it my best shot. This will be semi-live, so pls bare with me :).

Day 0: Our flight landed in FLL, once we got to the Hyatt Pier 66, we dropped off our luggage and walked about 1.25 miles to the

Green Bar & Kitchen for everything Plant-based food! I had the Coconut burger, coleslaw and fries with and Pale Ale beer. Hubby (who is not Vegan) had the Green bar burger and loaded fries. OMG good! We picked up Chocolate chip and sugar cookies for the walk back. Stopped at the mid point of the bridge for a yacht to pass through. Neat experience!

Day 1: We had breakfast at the hotel and I had steel cut oats with fresh fruit, hot tea and soy milk. Boarding the ship was easy! We stopped to get a drink and then found the Solarium Bistro and I had a nice salad and fruit for a snack. After exploring for a bit we stopped at Sabor and had a great Margarita, fresh Guacamole and chips. I ordered beans and filled fresh flour tortillas with that and guac and fresh pico. Delicious and filling!

Time for a quick manicure and reception before the 8:00 dinner seating.

I was apprehensive to eat dinner in the main dining room, because I didn't meet with the maitre D, but I had contacted the special needs desk ahead of time. They brought out sourdough rolls and onion rolls that had no dairy or eggs and pointed those out for me.

I ordered a spinach salad with tomato, and pine nuts and balsamic vinegar and oil. My main course was a Soy based chili quesadilla with grilled zucchini and kale. This was delicious! I had the fresh fruit that was offered as a starter for dessert: kiwi, strawberry and pineapple drizzles with lime syrup. After dinner we went to the late showing in the Aqua theatre, that is a must see!

Day 2 room service didn't arrive and we had to leave for our excursion by 7:30. No breakfast :(. We opted to go to Balmoral for the beach. We found a shaded area with loungers that was quiet and has a nice relaxing morning. This is our least favorite port and we've visited before and did an island tour. This was perfect for us!

We went to the market (forgot to take pics) but I ordered a veggie wrap and fries (cooked In soybean oil) and I got an iced mocha with soy. All good! More to come later! I'll add pics at a later date if requested.

  6. We've sailed with our teens on NCL a couple times during spring break and there were plenty of kids that age. Be prepared for drinking late teens and young 20's since they allow alcohol over 18 if the parent is on the ship.

Carnival had a good amount too. I'd pick Carnival out if Galveston if we had our kids along.
