We prepay our gratuities, but we just got off the Valor and some college kids we met on an excursion were asking us about the $65 gratuity charge that showed up on their account on the 3rd day of the cruise. They were asking if more gratuity would be added at the end.
Sounds to me like $65 is a 5 day cruise with the $12.95/day gratuities added at the end of the cruise. That's completely different than room service (food ordered) but is for room steward, waiters, service people, etc.$12.95 x 5 days= $64.75

It wasn't any more fun of an experience for those of us stuck on the ship. Actually, this cruise was the probably the worst ever for us as far as terminal experiences go On Thursday, despite having a time of 10:30-11 selected for our staggered check-in time, the people working embarkation acted like this was their first day on the job. I had to go inside and get someone to look at my account then issue me another piece of paper. Then, in the terminal, something must have kept breaking down because boarding took forever. Last night was probably the roughest I've ever experienced and then today we were all stuck there waiting to get off, blaming it on the wind. Then to cap it off, someone needs to do better direction with the non-English speaking people so that they aren't fumbling 10 minutes looking for a picture ID to get thru customs. Oh, and while placing my documents back in my bag on my way to exit(with no one behind me) a quite large elderly Carnival employee hollered at us to keep moving.

Since so many people here have given them nothing but good reviews I went ahead and booked them for my upcoming cruise :)
I did the same. Used Ez Cruise last year with not so good results so I am hoping for better experience with these guys.
Drink Package Question

So, when the bartenders say that the drink package doesn't kick in on embarkation day is this true? Do they go back and credit you for the first day or does that not count?
