It looks like you have not been sailing Princess for some time.

You can read all about Platinum and Elite benefits on Princess.com under the Captain's Circle pages.  There is a download PDF with the details.  There have been some changes and additions.

Free Internet (you called it Wifi) has been gone for a long time now.  Internet access is sold by the voyage or by the day.  It is unlimited.  Platinum and Elite can purchase for 50% off the rates.  It is included in the Plus and Premier cruise fare packages.

No, Plus and Premier have nothing to do with Captain's Circle member levels.

Good to know, thank you for the clarification.

  2. My sister and I received this exact email from Princess today.
We have a cruise coming up in early Feb.  We are signed up for

Princess Plus.  But tonight we were discussing the email and we

were both wondering if they are still giving perks for being Platinum

or Elite? We are Platinum and have been for several years now. And have

enjoyed Priority Boarding and free WIFI on past cruises.. Is there any

incentive now to reach Elite?  Or has Princess Plus and Princess Premier

    replaced Platinum and Elite??

  3. My sister is currently on the Carnival Dream, she emailed me this morning and said they were disappointed that there were no table cloths in the dining room, your cabin is attended to only once a day, and the staff no longer have time to talk or joke with you, she asked if I noticed these things last year when I cruised on Princess in Alaska. My answer to her was no, not at all! Has it changed with Princess? We go on a cruise to feel pampered, I think it would be a big mistake for cruise lines to cut corners in this way. What are your thoughts?

I received another email from my sister this morning. She said yesterday they noticed the towels that were on the floor had been hung back up on the towel rack. If this is how Carnival is doing things these days, I am glad I am a faithful Princess cruiser. The price of fare should pay for basic niceities such as clean towels every day, and table cloths in the dining room. She did say for formal night there were table cloths.

  5. My daughter and I will be in R515 on the Ruby in a couple of weeks, looking forward to trying out a sideways cabin!

We are back from our cruise, we had R515 on the Ruby, these inside cabins are layed out very nice, LOVED it! Bigger than the other inside cabins, great location, I would definately select this category and type of cabin on any future cruise.

  6. We returned home last week from spending 42 nights cruising to Antarctica and South America. At several of the SA ports having insect repellant with you is recommended. We used Ben's Tick and Insect Repellant wipes. The wipes were individually wrapped so no bottle leakage and they also took up virtually no space in the backpacks.

Sounds perfect for us, would a sporting goods store carry them?

  7. Awesome, I thought you were leaning towards the other company. We are so excited can't get here fast enough! :D

this one is on the water longer, which I liked, I know I can't wait either!! Most of the details have been taken care of, now it is just a waiting game

Just to clear this up.. just because it uses the ship card, that does not mean its in your owed ship account card balance. The casino "bank" account and the ship board account are separate things. As long as SHE ONLY uses cash at the machines. You could use the ship card to get money for the machine and THAT would show up as a purchase on your on board account. But any amount left on the machine that she "cashes" out will be transferred to her player's bank which she would then be able to use on another machine or cash out at the casino cage. Note that she must cash out the last night of the cruise as the ship has not visibility into the casino account and will not refund any money left in it without having to email the corporate offices for the casino...

Thanks so much everyone who responded and for explaining how this is set up on Princess ships, appreciate the information!

  9. I think it depends which cruise line you are sailing. I know on Princess it goes on your cruise card. No slips of paper to lose.

We will be on Princess, this is what I was afraid of, it would be tied to my credit card, and her winnings would be deducted from what I will owe at the end of the cruise. I would rather the machine give her a ticket that she could cash in. (Assuming she is winning, that is!)

  10. My daughter and I are cruising on Princess in May, the cruise is going on my credit card, if my daughter wants to gamble in the casino can she gamble with cash? Or does it go on your sail card (which would be my credit card)

  11. I have booked our whale watch on the MV Scania. The boat is limited to 9 people and has great Trip Advisor reviews. If you email them they will send you a detailed explanation of how they run the tour and what the boat is like. I don't have the link right now but you should be able to search MV Scania on Juneau. You might this helpful in your research.

Sent from my SM-N900V using Forums mobile app

We will be there in May and I may change our reservation with the ship tour to this one, this sounds really good! What is the cost?

  12. My daughter and I are booked on the Ruby in May, our cabin is on the Riviera deck mid aft. My daughter is a smoker and I am wondering if there is smoking allowed on the Lido deck above us? From what I've read, it sounds like she would be able to smoke behind Horizon Court on the port side, is this correct? If so is this a open area or protected from the weather?
