  1. I disagree with Melbtone - not all ......solos spend less (in total) than couples.  I have sailed alone and spent/booked excursion for safety reason, booked specialty restaurants I wanted to try out because when I travel with companiions, some members of the party was not interested in specialty dining because of cost or various other reason etc, so this is my chance to do what I want to do.

You think you would want more people crusing?  You make a profit in what you sell!!!

  2.  This morning I heard an announcement that Celebrity Cruise (RCCL Intl) is increasing their rates for solo cruisers cabin because of loss of revenue. Why???  single are discrimnated. Some are single by choice but their is a few of us that are not. Cruising is a way of relaxing and getting a chance to meet other passengers. Does it cost more to clean a single person than a couple or family? The cost of dining, beverages and excursions has gone up, policy changes etc.. We still pay the same as other cruiser.  I have been on 15+ cruises but now I am going to try other cruise lines.

  3. I sailed in 11729 over Thanksgiving in 2016 and I thought the view was pretty awesome. The high wire was on my level, and I only had to peek around the divider to see the wind blowing through the guy's hair.... The abyss slides didn't really obstruct much in my opinion. (Maybe my standards are low? Hey, I was on a cruise.)

I watched the show in the actual theater seats, watched it again from my balcony, and also watched some practice sessions, too. I would still try to make it to the theater, though. It's a completely different view.

How is the view from Deck 8?

  4. Does anyone think the drinks are pretty high in cost? I have cruised 14 times and each year it has been getting higher. I had to fight to get a deluxe package for my self, My husband has medical issues but the cost for me along total $ 413.00 and this they said was a discounted rate. Not worth it. :(

  5. The beverage package policy is ridiculous. I would like one but my husband has a medical condition and does not drink but we are require to purchase two, which is not fair. Then we were told he had to buy a regular classic beverage package which will be a waist of money because the sodas, flavor water, juices he doesn't drink either. it not fair to non- acholic drinkers or any reason that is beyond our control.

  6. Special thanks to Mysticks1 on the Celebrity Cruises forum for this idea. I would like to begin to assemble one for Royal Caribbean.

To the moderators, I would appreciate if we could make this a "sticky" at the top of the page for all to see.

Every week or two I will post a PDF for all the ships and cabin information compiled here.

  7. Hi,

Last year I order the beverage package for just me. (frequent cruiser) My husband has medical issues so there is a lot of drinks, non-alchol drinks, sodas etc he cannot have. I called and received permission to order just for me but this year it has change, the second party in the cabin must get some kind of beverage package. I understand their policy for cheaper but not everyone cheats. So I opt out not to get the package!

  8. I hate it. I guess it works for RCCL, but it has stopped me from booking a cruise that is a few months out. I was debating between Sept 2018 and May 2019 for a med cruise and simply can't guarantee vacation time coordination just now. In the past I would book early and and feel good in the knowledge that I could cancel if plans didn't work out. 90% of the time plus it worked and we did not cancel. Now I waver and check all the different cruiselines and may book NCL for flexibililty, even though I may prefer RCCL. I am sure everyone is different but I find it discouraging to have to pay more (over 100$ p/p) so I won't book it at all for now. Probably a bad idea on my part as prices will possible go up, but I can't bring myself to pay higher... :([/quot]

I dislike it. Especially because we are a frequent cruisers with RCCL. They are coming up with so many different charges and changes.
