We are on the Enchanted for a 10-day cruise about to end.  We were given an 8x11 sheet of paper with the times for the PES lounge, wine tasting and Captain's Circle Party.  The PES lounge is open from 4:30 to 6:30 every night except the night of the Captain's Circle party.  There is a smack table set up with different offerings all served by the staff (no self-service) but no advance notice of what is offered.  One night they had the boiled shrimp which I love but just happened to be there that night.  There are no discounted drinks offered.   Most though have the Plus package so all the alcoholic drinks are included (less than $15 I believe).

What venue is it in on the Enchanted?

  2. All eight drinks are available at the Skywalkers event each day for the special price of $6.50. I haven't looked at a drink menu to see how much of a savings that is. They are boulevardier, Mayan mule, floradora, port lemonade, Bacardi limon mojito, cherry blossom garden, deep sea martini, and Tito's fresh mint lemondrop. There's another thread here on Cruise Critic about what's in the drinks. DH had the last one. It was a strong drink. We have not tried the others. I'm limited as to how much alcohol I can drink, and he started a new medicine that he can't drink at all with.

There are two dispensers--one with body wash and one with shampoo (supposedly with conditioner included with the shampoo). There's no longer separate conditioner except for those receiving the suite amenities.

We were never told fully what the technical problem was after leaving Guernsey. I think the propulsion problem kept us from being able to make up the time. But we ended up with the full time we were supposed to get, just four hours later. Our tablemates, for instance, had their excursion turn from including a stop for lunch to having a stop for dinner. But otherwise, I can't tell that the ship isn't moving as fast as it did when we were on it December.

Thanks for your Live postings! I've done a quick search trying to find the thread referenced re: what's in the drinks. Found a recipe for the Mayan Mule and the Tito's lemon drop is pretty obvious. Any intel on the others or if someone can point me to the thread it is appreciated. Cheers!

  3. Just back from a Panama Canal Cruise on the Coral Princess. In Puntarenas, Costa Rica, Sept. 26, 2012, we booked a tour with Ricky Ricardo Tours. We had a great time! Ricky took us to places where the bigger busses could not go. We stopped & saw some white -faced monkeys, WOW! Next, Ricky took us to a small family farm where we pressed sugar cane & drank a wonderful fruit, ginger & sugar cane mixture Ricky also showed us some of the amazing medicinal herbs & spices found there. We took an incredible boat trip...monstrous crocodiles, beautiful birds, lush habitation... lots of great photos! A wonderful lunch on the beach was included... typical Costa Rican meal. A hike down a trail in the forest followed. Our guide, from that site, explained the Flora & Fauna encountered on this tour... amazing! A short stop for shopping & then, back to the ship. Ricky & his driver gave a a brief glimpse of that part of Costa Rica... it was a wonderful time.

Thanks for this info. We leave On the Coral this Sat. LA to FLL through the Canal. Any other insight or info you can offer would be welcomed! Thanks!

  4. I searched this forum for tour guide operators and made contact with them via email. We are booked with Odyssey though I was also impressed with OkeyDokey. We are not doing Manual Antonio as it appears it is a 2 hour drive (each way).

We will be back at the beginning of May if you would like me to report back on our experience with Odyssey.

We'll be in Puntarenas via the Coral Princess in November. Would you use them again? What did you see? Thanks!
