Did you feel like you had enough time with the ship tour? It seems awfully short and cabs are so plentiful and cheap in Nassau I think the $60 savings might be worth it, especially since the cheaper cost through Atlantis gives you a couple extra hours.

As for the Comfort Inn in my earlier post, that comes to over $450 after taxes are added in. I had to laugh though, they have a “non-refundable, non-cancelable” fare that “can be canceled until the 8am the day before” 🤣

We had the option to leave between 2:30 and 3:30.  We stayed until 3:30.  Our all aboard time was 4:30 though.  We would’ve enjoyed a little more time.  1 negative with the RCCL excursions are you have to meet in the Royal Theater.  It might be nice to just taxi over a little earlier.  Like others have said, you just want to make sure you allow plenty of time to get a taxi back and factor in the traffic.  You just never know if it’s going to take a lot longer or not.

This is offered as a shore excursion for $205 pp. Atlantis also has day passes available for $95 pp. The ship’s excursion includes transportation, so I’m leaning towards that. But the description states it’s only for 5 hours (if you stay longer, you’re responsible for your way back to the ship) and we’re in port from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. It also doesn’t make mention of beach access, which worries me. Does anyone have experience with the shore excursion at Aquaventure? Thank you for your help!

Did you add the passes to your cart and then get the price at check out?  Just checking as we just went to Atlantis last week.  We purchased the excursion through the ship and it was $219 per person.  I had priced it directly with Atlantis, it said “from” $95, but when I went to check out it went up to $190 per person (for ages 13 and up), kids are $95 per person.  Since this was without transportation, we kept the excursion we purchased through the ship.  We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back!

    Symphony on January 7

I just booked a ‘balcony guarantee’ but when I called in to finalize it, he said it was a neighbourhood one. A OV gty would be about $800 more. So not sure if that means for sure neighbourhood or if they could upgrade it. I’m fine with either!

Ok so yes, you’ll more than likely get a Central Park or Boardwalk Balcony.

I would keep checking the price for an Oceanview Guarantee as they tend to fluctuate.

  4. Let me start by saying...I have never sailed on Quantum.  I've been on Anthem, Odyssey, and Ovation.  We just did the 7/29 sailing to Alaska on Ovation.  If you're set on these 2 ships/itineraries, I would definitely go with Ovation.  On our sailing we were only in Victoria for the evening and it just wasn't enough time to do much.

Who do you ask for mattress toppers? Are they always available?

I've asked for a mattress topper on our last 2 cruises (Odyssey and Ovation) and was told that since Covid they are no longer available.  The reason being is they cannot be washed. The room steward put about 6 comforters folded in half for me and it helped on the 1st cruise, but the 2nd cruise it was no help.  I felt as though I was sleeping on a brick.  😐  I know suites are "supposed" to have nicer mattresses, but have not experienced them myself.

    Yes. Please explain further.

RCCL has now removed the "book/redeem by" deadline.  FCC's can now be redeemed anytime up until the expiration date listed on the certificate.

They also indicated if you have multiple certificates, you can combine them to use on one cruise.

I am hoping someone can help me. My husband and I were scheduled to cruise in March of 2020. We went ahead and canceled the cruise because things were starting to get crazy with Covid. We had travel insurance through Royal. We were issued a FCC. We scheduled another cruise for 2021 which was canceled by Royal. Again we were issued a FCC. At this point we have no interest in trying to book something and complete the cruise by the end of this year. Any hope of getting a refund at this point? Since we had travel insurance I feel like it is holding us back from getting a refund. Anyone else deal with this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If it helps, you no longer need to book/use your FCC by the end of the year.

  8. I have a client that cancelled a cruise in 3/20 and received a FCC.  I rebooked him (and his son) for 3/21, then that did not happen.  I then rebooked them for 7/21, then that did not happen.  Keep in mind, each time I called in, I requested a full refund and was told no, they were not eligible.  Finally rebooked for 3/22.  When cruises started getting cancelled in January, he started getting concerned and said he did not want to go.  He was concerned about Covid in general and wasn't too thrilled with the whole Covid protocol.

I called in January and asked to cancel.  I let the rep know that he was not interested in a FCC as he has absolutely no plans to cruise in the next year or 2.  I asked if I could get the clients money back and they said YES!  Refunds are taking 30-45+ days, but he's thrilled.

So LONG story short...IF you're cruising "soon" and you are not happy with the current Covid protocol (requirements, etc) then YES you can get a full refund. ($ actually paid)

The closets on SY and HM are not like OA and AL.  There are 2 smaller closets beside the beds.  Same layout as Quantum class

In this case 10323 is closest to the bath as you said but not the closet

Can you please verify...when you say "same layout as Quantum Class" you mean the closets right?  The rooms are reversed right?  Bed by balcony on the left and bed by bathroom on the right?

  10. I agree that the "sales" are frustrating.  But I also know that the prices fluctuate ALL the time.  I never count on the Black or Cyber Monday sales to be better than the prices have been at some point in the months prior.

A couple of things to consider...Royal Caribbean does not limit the amount of drinks you can have per day.  Many of the other cruise lines do.  For cruise lines that offer the perks, the "free" perks are built into the pricing.  So you're paying for the perks one way or another.

With the pandemic and everything the cruise industry has been through I think a little higher prices is somewhat expected.  Just keep watching the prices as I anticipate they'll go back down in the coming weeks.  🤞🙂

They did, but if you call and plead with them that your wife doesn't drink, they will let you purchase the drink package and she has to purchase the refreshment package.

P.S. It makes NO sense if you have the Deluxe Beverage Package you have D drinks loaded on your seapass.  They'll figure it out.

Actually this is no longer the case.  No need to plead, etc.   If you call and ask to purchase one deluxe and one refreshment, they do not ask for a reason.  They just require a refreshment package be purchased.

    Bed by the balcony.

    Here is the methodology:

    The connecting cabins method:

The connecting cabin on the right side when looking at both from corridor will always have the sofa by the balcony and bed by the bathroom. Again every second cabin over from that cabin will have the same sofa and bed position and in between ones will have the opposite layout or the same as the left side connecting cabin which is bed by balcony, sofa by bathroom.

This means that in the connected pair, the cabin on the LEFT will have the bed by the balcony.  7536 is such a cabin.  So, 7524 is the same as 7536.   Bed by the balcony.

Also:  Cabins with a sofabed (* in deck plans), the bed is by the bathroom.  Since your cabin is next to * cabins, YOUR cabin has the bed by the balcony.

    🙂

    Thank you for explaining!!

Sorry I am not sure but if you do not get an answer before next week I will do a drive by in the late morning when they should be cleaning cabins or on turnover day after the 1st cruise and see if I can grab a peek 🙂

Our “guess” is bed by the bathroom, but cannot verify 100%.  If you have time and see the door open, that would be great!  Appreciate  your help!  Good luck on your bid for an upgrade!!🤞🤞
