Greetings from the Eurodam.  Watched the safety video and will check in at my muster station before 5:30 dinner.  Embarkation was actually quite easy, aside from poor signage on the route from the parking garage to the terminal.  Boarding was supposed to start at 4 but there were many already embarked when I got on at 3:45.

Unpacked my carryons but neither of the checked bags yet.

I probably saw you and wished you a good cruise. I was working at the top of the escalator at that time. 🙂

Eurodam and Rotterdam are circling outside Port Everglades.  No official word on opening but "Scheduled" arrival times have been moved to 0940 which is more realistic than 0600.  My revised itinerary shows us leaving at 9PM and missing HMC and Curacao, then picking up our original itinerary.

We are waiting patiently for the ships arrival for debark.

  3. I'm sure they are scrambling due to this very serious weather. I was due to work debark and embark tomorrow and haven't heard anything yet. Again, I'm sure they are scrambling. That's a lot of passengers and employees to have to reschedule. Hopefully everything will go smoothly, everyone will be safe and you will have a wonderful time on your cruise.

  4. We did it. Our only downside was we got off one ship then walked to what I thought was our ship and it was the wrong one. Luckily we were able to hop on a shuttle to bring us to the right ship. It was great getting off a ship only to start the party over again on a different ship. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

  5. Everyone in the lounge does board at the same time but I have never been in a platinum and diamond lounge that allowed faster to the fun people to enter. Usually they only allow the diamond and platinum passengers to come in. They usually have a separate line out in the main terminal for faster to the fun.

Well that explains it. As there were so many people waiting in the lounge I guessed FTTF were in there as well. I guess our cruise just had a large number of Platinum/Diamonds.

  6. I think it used to be special. When they rolled out the program there weren't that many people in the platinum check in so it did feel nice. On our latest carnival cruise there were about 75 people in the waiting area. Don't get me wrong, everyone was happy and excited to get on the ship so how bad can that be? Lol But it isn't what it once was.

  7. I've had both the RCCL and NCL package. Both are the same price as Carnival but there is no limit on the number of drinks you can have. A very good deal on both and again, I would hate it if it were cancelled or changed due to people trying to cheat because they are too cheap to buy their own.

  8. If the quantity/savings isn't an issue, why would you purchase the drink card to begin with? Certainly you can pay for two or three glasses of wine for much cheaper than buying the package.

We gamble quite a bit too and also get the drinks are on us card. I don't feel that entitles me to anything beyond what the hosts and players club already gives me.

It's a good program for a good price. I wouldn't want it cancelled because people are too cheap to buy their own drinks/package.

  9. Of course they are copying Disney, just like they copied NCL with the electric white night or whatever CCL calls theirs.

Doesn't make it a bad thing. They see it working for others so they are going to try their version.

CCL in recent times is always reacting to what the other lines do instead of just coming up with their own ideas.

Plenty of peeps love CCL so it's not a bad thing I guess. :)

    Exactly! :)

  10. You do when it's YOUR idea.

What? Are you joking?? So things like birthday Parties, children's games, card games, shouldn't be played or done because they were someone else's idea? What about Karaoke?

I think the response of being a copy cat is a bit childish.

  11. to pile on to what Jenny said, you would see this in the deckplans on the NCL site or any number of others. Curve out = bed placement. Curve in = couch.

And I just learned from your awesome work that I have an exposed or uncovered balcony. I don't spend too much time on the balcony though so that shouldn't be a problem.

I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated the work you put into that. :)
