Anyone cruising on this Thanksgiving cruise. We are going with a group 13 guys, mostly out of Michigan but also one couple from Illinois and we are from Georgia.

We prefer Celebrity and Royal with a slight preference for Celebrity. We would be open to trying Princess some day. We gave Carnival more than one shot and we are done.

We also prefer Celebrity (3 cruises) & RCI (5th coming up), leaving today to go to Florida and catching the Brilliance for a 5 nighter and then setting up a group of friends and family to go out for a Thanksgiving cruise on the Celebrity Constellation. I just started to cruise in Sept of 2010 and my partner has 70+ under his belt (but then he is an agent).

Any G&L Cruisers taking this cruise? My partner and I will be on the ship with 20 members of a group of people out of Atlanta GA area. Looking for people to meet and catch some drinks with onboard.

Having an agent is far better than not. If you run into a problem, an agent has more pull, esp if they work for a larger agency. They also have the knowledge to not do anything wrong or to not forget to do something needed.

As far as costs, an agent who books group space may have a lower cost than you can get from the cruise lines yourself. I know of one who has had prices as much as $500 cheaper for a balcony than the cruise lines were showing, esp as the cruise nears, because he had taken group space on that perticular cruise months earlier. (You have to be booking prior to the normal deposit due date.)

And besides booking throgh an agent cost you nothing for the most part since cruise companies do not discount and agent are forbidden to do so....IN plain language IT DOES NOT MATTER. So book through an agent and at least have the satisfaction that a trained pro is there to have your back in case of problems.

Originally from NJ (near Montclair/Clifton) but now from Atlanta area. My partner, Ron, was originally from CT via FL. He books cruises (any ship - any port)and we have been on 7 since Sept 2010 when I moved in with him. He specializes in groups so we generally have some travel mates (Gay & straight). We love just getting a bunch together and setting sail. Almost always meets others aboard (the best being the Allure of the Seas when we had a group of about 40 at the FOD meetings). Hope we get to meet up one day.:)
