  1. I am sailing Monday. I got an e-mail this morning that indicated that while my Royal Up was not accepted, it could be right up to departure time.

What happens if you  are settled in your cabin and unpacked?   Does someone come knocking at your door, prior to departure, telling you that your   Royal Up has been accepted?

  2. I have used the Shareholder OBC for short cruises, in the past, without any problems.

On a 3 day Enchantment cruise last month, I booked at the going rate without any discounts.

When I applied for the OBC, I was turned down because I had booked at a "special rate",

When I asked what was the special rate that I had received, I was told to go to the website, which I did and the site repeated that OBC did not apply to "special rates".

While my question wasn't answered, I suppose that I should be happy that I got a "special rate".

  3. I have used the above credit in the past with no problem.

I found an Enchantment cruise online and booked it.

When I applied for shareholder credit, I got the response that I was not eligible due to a "special pricing" that I had received.

It was a normal booking and I'm not sure what "special pricing" is.

  4. I was on the 2 night Freedom cruise where the LA said that there would no amenities, for that cruise, as it was only a 2 night cruise.

She followed up with the comment that there would no longer be amenities on 3 day cruises.

I don't think she is correct about the 3 day cruises.

    Comments?

  5. I also was on that cruise and I agree embarkation was a mess. We arrived early and waited in line for over 2 hours to get to security. At one point we were told that the hold up was due to the check in lines being too long. As we were one of the first in line, we wondered where the people came from to overload check in.

I was surprised that the cruise was so bare bones, no free photo, no free drinks, no free internet, etc. Also no gift in room.

Someone commented that while it was only a two day cruise, it wasn't free and he should have been told that there would no amenities.

A brief cruise but any cruise is a good cruise.

  6. 1- The welcome aboard photos are no longer dated. Just a generic "Welcome to Port Canaveral". Makes it a little more difficult for those keeping their photos in order.

    2. No sail away pool buffet from Nassau. Only snacks in the Windjammer. There may have been rain in the forecast but this is the first time this has happened on any of my cruises.

    3. Finally for those who complained about the basket of cheese, crackers and nuts, it has been replaced by a package of butter shortbread cookies and toasted almonds.

  7. This is weird.

I booked and paid for a cruise this past weekend and received a booking confirmation, for a cruise next week.

Today when I checked my reservation online , I owed an additional $400 plus.

I called the D+ desk and after an extended wait, the issue was resolved.

I was told that I caused the problem by checking my reservation online, as there was a price increase, which was applied when I opened the reservation.

The suggestion was that I don't open any reservations but call Royal instead, with any questions.

I guess that I can't check for the upgrade fairy, change room set up, dining reservations etc?

    Comments?

  8. I wasn't looking to book another cruise, this morning, just checking rates.

I signed in (D+) and was checking the Enchantment, when I saw that I could get a balcony gty. for $186 PP for a 4 day cruise.

I have paid more than that, many times, for an OV.

    I had to book it.

I don't think that I have ever seen a balcony, that low.

  9. Just off a weekend cruise on the Enchantment, which I guess is as casual as it gets. I did MTD and there were very few men with jackets or suits on formal night. A lot of long or short sleeved collared shirts but that was it.

Not as bad as last month when the table next to us had all men who wore baseball caps and tee shirts, every night.
