  1. We will be arriving in September on the Oasis from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  This will be our first time in Europe.  We are looking to see the most we can in the time we have.  We are from New Jersey (shore area), so wouldn't mind hitting the beach in the morning, lunch, and then seeing some sight seeing.  We really don't know where to start. If we don't have beach time, that's fine as well.  We are in our early 50's.  We are always go, go, go when we cruise.  We don't plan on returning to the ship until sail away time as we want to make the most of our visit.

Any suggestions, this is so overwhelming!

  2. So..which beach is best...Cable Beach, Cabbage Beach or Junkanoo Beach? I think we went to Junkanoo Beach years ago, it was a local beach. Just looking to relax a bit and a beautiful beach. Please tell me how to get there too and if they have chairs/umbrellas to rent (cost would be great as well).

    Thank you.

The $200 passes get you into the pool area, where the rides, lounge chairs, aquarium, etc. are.  In my opinion, it's not worth the money.

However, there are things you can do and see at Atlantis that don't require paying for a pass.  The entrance area, with a large aquarium view, is nice.  You can go through the casino, eat and drink in the casino restaurants or bars, and there is an ersatz Bahamian village with shops and restaurants down along the harbor which is nice to walk through.  Plus looking at all the big yachts.

If it were me, I'd go over and do the free stuff at Atlantis, and then head back to the cruise ship for some relaxation while everyone else is off.

We were there last year on our way to the beach but we got rained out, so not worth it for the $200 pass.  We have walked around Atlantis many years ago, but last year they had guards at all the exit doors leading to the outside beach area.  They ask for your room key.  I simply wanted to check out the view, with no luck.  The shopping area right next to it is kinda small in my opinion.  If you have never been there at all before I guess it is something to do, otherwise, I would pass.  We took the boat shuttle and then had to walk to Atlantis which wasn't the safests (as it lots of traffic).  You can get it when you get out of the port and make a right, although there was lots of construction on the new pier last year.

  4. Having been to Nassau several times, we are now looking at this excursion, Funky Nassau Jeep Adventure.  We saw it (the Jeep) last time we were there in March and teh Jeep looked cool.  It's 3 hours at $149 per person.  Although I love Jeeps, trying to justify if it is worth $300 for my bf and I for 3 hours or if we should just do a beach or stay on the ship and take advantage of our drink package...lol

Any feedback on this excursion? Or maybe there is a private tour company I can use, although hesitant about that idea unless very reputable.

  5. Booked Oasis for this July a few days ago.  Was on the Anthem 2 week ago.

For our Anthem cruise I received nothing about Royal Up.  Only found out about it from FB posts.  We booked with a cruise agency.  How or when, if at all, will I receive an e-mail asking if I want to Royal Up??

    Thank you.

  6. So I booked Oasis last night for this July, with my cruise travel agent.  Just wondering how do I receive a Royal Up offer and from whom?  (I assume directly from RC, not my travel agent).

We were on the Anthem 2 weeks ago.  Never received anything regarding an offer for Royal Up.

We booked central park balcony but wouldn't mind finding a deal doing the Royal Up.

    Thanks.

  7. I am a researcher, to say the least..lol

I use a cruise company to book.  Savings when I book (my deposit is non-refundable which is fine, it can be used as a credit).  Also, I find that RC does not give much as far as perks.  Just booked Oasis, getting $175 OBC and 1 specialty dining for 2.  Better than RC is offering at the moment. Also use same company for our Anthem cruise from 2 weeks ago.  Checked about 5 websites before booking both of these cruises and none offered the perks I received.

We've had 4 of the "inside" balconies and like them a lot. There can be a little noise when the balcony door is open. Once you "lock" the door, you don't hear anything. If you want the best view of the Aqua show, try to get a cabin further back. We're sailing on the Allure in May. We have a BW cabin on Deck 14 aft. Should be great.

    how is the movement? concerned...

As the others have said you should be fine.  We had room 11729 on Oasis in Dec and it was fantastic.  Yes water show is loud but very much enjoyed watching it (with earplugs but that is the norm for me for any cruise show with music) from the balcony.  Once the door is locked, noise is significantly reduced and everything on boardwalk is pretty much it shut down by approx 11 pm. The nightlife is indoors at the various clubs/venues.

we are also concerned about movement?

  10. Would like to book this, Deck 11 as we can see the aqua show and ocean from here.  My boyfriend and I are up until at least 12 p.m. the earliest. I am told the room is very noisy due to the boardwalk activity, people in general, late night dancing and zip line and people are not happy with this room selection.  Should we be concerned about the noise??

Our other choice is Central Park balcony.

  11. Someone had mentioned you need to show your passport on the boat to return from Blue Lagoon.  Anyone know if this is correct? I have never showed my passport outside of the ship and would hate to carry it with me, especially at a beach.

  12. We are cruising this Sunday.  Which beach do you like better and why? We have been to Junkanoo Beach and didn't really care for that.  Looking to do something on our own and then go in town to check out the shops. Is the walkable from the both beaches to town?

Last time in Nassau we did Blue Lagoon and then went to town, time before we did Junaknoo Beach.

Do both have chairs/umbrellas for rental?

I hear one of the beaches, not sure which one at the moment, is a "shared" beach with Atlantis, meaning the public beach part is rather small. Is that correct?

How much is a cab from the pier to both beaches? I assume there is a public entrance for both beaches.

    So what are the pros/cons?

    Thank you!!

I read the latest yesterday and I thought it said no more wrist bands.  We are on the Anthem on 3/13, hopefully I read it right.

I do not believe you can get on she ship without testing. (5 cruises last and this year)

Also last two were B2B Christmas/New Year and while they gave us white rubber (after green one), other people had white cloth ones, and then we saw some people in Blue ones like we had in November.

  14. We are now thinking of doing the day pass for Margaritaville, something new for us, which is walkable from the pier.  Now that swim with the stingrays was mentioned above (to access Blue Lagoon, that might be a 2nd option).

    Hoping for warm weather!

You aren't assigned a specific time for MTD. TD for the MDR you are assigned a specific time. Sounds like you are confusing the two.

Nope, not confused, at least I think not...lol

We were assigned to late seating and then changed to MTD (our choice of what time, depending on our schedule).

  16. We have MTD as well for this March.  I didn't even realize they offered it until I read something, we WERE assigned to late seating.  First time we did MTD was Norweigan and loved it.  We will probably make standing reservations once on board (I like having the same wait staff, but if not, no bigee) when we find out the show schedules so we can coordinate.  To think over 10 years ago we used to do the late seating, I think it was at 8 or 8:15...Seems so late now...LOL.  I don't mind eating late but I would rather do it by choice, not by assignment...LOL

We have to check in later this week for our March cruise on Anthem.  This is our first cruise since the restart, so we have not had to deal with boarding times, etc.

    1. What time does check-in open?
    2. Can we check in using our laptop or do we have to use the phone app?

We are on the Anthem on 3/13.  We checked in on line the other day.  At that time we were able to select the earliest check in time that was available. You have choice of the times that are listed.
